When your AC needs a deep clean
- 1
Musty smell when you switch on
Jeddah's high humidity creates ideal conditions for mould on the drain pan and evaporator fins. If you notice a sharp smell the moment the unit starts, the most common cause is mould built up inside the indoor unit.
- 2
Weak cooling from a working unit
A thin layer of dust on the evaporator fins reduces heat transfer noticeably. A dirty blower wheel cuts airflow without any fault in the compressor or refrigerant. Cleaning restores the unit's performance to what it was.
- 3
A unit that has not been cleaned in a long time
Jeddah's heavy dust and salt-laden sea air build up on the outdoor coil and block airflow paths. The unit runs but the compressor works harder than it should; cleaning both coils together reduces that load.

How we work
How we work
- 1
Tell us the unit type
WhatsApp us the unit type, how many units and your district, and we will book a time that suits you, Saturday to Thursday.

What sets this district apart
Al Wahah is a spacious residential area with scattered villas and blocks on wide land, enjoying good natural ventilation between separate buildings. However, the eastern location and proximity to desert regions means greater exposure to dust and dry winds, especially in summer and seasonal dust storms. Lower humidity compared to the coast reduces mould growth, but fine dust accumulates quickly in the evaporator coil, weakening cooling.
Al Wahah lies in east Jeddah, a spacious residential area with scattered villas and blocks on semi-arid desert land.
Most units here are independent splits per property, with outdoor condensers on elevated roofs or walls facing eastern winds.
The AC setup in Al Wahah
- 1
Independent split per property
The vast spaces in Al Wahah allow each villa or flat to have its own unit, making periodic cleaning straightforward without affecting others.
- 2
High-mounted outdoor condensers
Outdoor units are usually mounted high on roofs or small towers to shield from ground-level dust and potential flooding.
- 3
Units directly exposed to easterly winds
Al Wahah's eastern location means direct exposure to desert winds, speeding up dust accumulation in the coil and blower.
Before the visit
Before our visit in Al Wahah
- 1
Ensure safe access to the outdoor unit
Check high roof and ladder safety, and confirm there are no obstacles or hazardous weather before the appointment.
- 2
Provide keys for the indoor unit
We need safe access to the indoor unit to disconnect power, so ensure keys are available in advance.
- 3
Let us know if a dust storm is forecast
If a dust storm is forecast, we may recommend rescheduling for the team's safety on the elevated exposed roof.

FAQ
Questions about AC cleaning
Will the wash water stain my furniture or ceiling?
We fix a sealed protective bag under the indoor unit before any pressure washing begins. The bag collects all the wash water and channels it away from your wall and furniture. This step is not optional in how we work.
Will the mould smell disappear completely after cleaning?
In most cases the smell goes once the evaporator, blower wheel and drain pan are washed with a sanitising agent. If the smell comes from very old build-up or a drain line problem, we diagnose the cause on site and tell you exactly what is needed.
How does Jeddah's dust and salty air affect the outdoor coil?
Heavy dust and salt carried by sea air collect between the condenser fins and block airflow. This raises condensing pressure and makes the compressor work harder than it was designed to. Cleaning the outdoor coil regularly keeps the compressor performing as it should and extends its life.
Can you clean a window unit the same way?
Yes, a window unit needs similar work: filter, evaporator, blower wheel and drain pan, plus the outdoor coil built into the same casing. The difference is in how it is opened and accessed, which the technician works out after seeing where the unit is installed.
Can cleaning fix water dripping from the indoor unit?
Dripping usually comes from a blocked drain pan or a drain line that does not slope correctly. Cleaning the pan and checking that the line has the right fall resolves the problem in many cases. If the cause is different, the technician diagnoses it on site and explains exactly what is needed.
The area is semi-desert, how does dust affect my unit?
Fine dust from desert regions infiltrates the evaporator coil quickly, reducing cooling and airflow. We recommend cleaning every two months during dust season and every three months otherwise.
My outdoor unit is far from the house, does that make maintenance harder?
Distance does not complicate cleaning if the unit is safe to access, but we need indoor access to disconnect power, so ensure keys are available.
The soil is dry and humidity is low, should I worry about mould?
Lower humidity greatly reduces mould growth compared to other areas, but cleaning ensures fresh smell and clean airflow.
Power lines are sometimes far from the outdoor unit, does cleaning require disconnecting?
Yes, we fully disconnect the power before cleaning for safety, regardless of wire distance.
