When your window unit needs attention
- 1
Weak cooling even on full power
The room stays warm even with the unit running at full. Most often the coil or filter is blocked with the dust and salt Jeddah's air carries; cleaning them brings the cooling back without any parts.
- 2
Water leaking into the room
Dripping inside the room does not always mean a mechanical fault. The unit needs a slight tilt toward the outside so condensate runs away. We check the tilt, the drain tray and the drain holes before anything else.
- 3
Loud noise or a fan that will not spin
Grinding or heavy vibration usually points to a fan with broken blades, a worn shaft or a foreign object inside the unit. A fan that does not start while the compressor hums is often a failed run capacitor.
Who it's for
Your flat's window unit drips onto the floor
We check the unit tilt, drain tray and drain holes on site and correct the real cause so the dripping does not return.
Ask on WhatsAppYour shop's window unit runs but does not cool
We diagnose the coil, filter, capacitor and thermostat at your shop and carry out the repair needed to restore cooling with the least disruption to your business.

- Tilt and drain tray corrected
- Chassis rust report provided
How we work
How we work
- 1
Describe the fault
WhatsApp us what is happening: noise, drip or weak cooling. A photo of the front of the unit helps us know the model before the visit.
- 2
On-site diagnosis
The technician checks the filter, coil, fan, capacitor and thermostat in order, then tells you the real cause and what the repair needs before he starts.
- 3
Repair or replace call
If the repair is practical we complete it in the same visit. If the unit is old, the chassis is deeply rusted or the compressor fault is complex, we say so plainly and explain your options.
- 4
Run test and handover
After the repair we run the unit, check the cooling, confirm the drain flows and watch the current settle, then leave the room clean.
Real diagnosis or a quick guess?
| Alrabih | The usual way | |
|---|---|---|
| First step | Systematic check of each part | Replace the easiest part |
| Rust | Honest chassis assessment | Ignored until it worsens |
| Dripping | Tilt and tray checked first | Refrigerant added without diagnosis |
| Replace decision | Based on actual condition | May be rushed or delayed |
| Refrigerant type | Read from the unit nameplate | Wrong type may be added |

What sets this district apart
Al Muhammar is a mixed residential and commercial district with varying flat sizes and close-packed shops, each with one or more window units. The coastal location means constant high humidity, dust from surrounding roads clogs the coil quickly, and airborne salt corrodes the condenser and metal parts. On-site repair saves cost and time, especially for shops relying on continuous cooling all day.
Al Muhammar is an east-side mixed residential and small-commerce district with high density of older and mid-age window units.
Most units mount in bedroom or shop windows, draining directly outdoors or through simple drainage systems.
The AC setup in Al Muhammar
- 1
Window units crowded on narrow shop facades
In close-packed shops, units mount on narrow windows often near each other, increasing heat bounce-back and pressure on each unit.
- 2
Direct drains without extensions
Water drains straight out or to the floor, and in enclosed spaces can cause high humidity if clogged.
- 3
Older units exposed to airborne salt
The condenser and metal parts corrode quickly from coastal salt, needing regular cleaning and rust protection.

FAQ
Questions about Window AC repair
Can a window unit be repaired in the same visit?
Many faults, a clogged filter, a dirty coil, a failed run capacitor and a wrong tilt, are fixed in a single visit. If the unit needs a part the technician does not carry, we arrange a second visit once it is sourced.
How does Jeddah's salty air affect a window unit?
The damp salty air from the sea speeds up corrosion on the metal chassis, fan blades and coil fins. Units on sea-facing walls or higher floors corrode faster. We check how deep the rust goes and tell you honestly whether the unit is worth repairing or whether the chassis has reached the point where replacement saves more.
The unit runs but the compressor will not start. What causes that?
The most common cause is a failed run capacitor that can no longer give the compressor or fan the starting push it needs. The relay is the second likely cause. The technician tests both with instruments and confirms which is at fault before replacing anything.
Why does my window unit drip water into the room?
A window unit drains condensate out of the back, so if it tilts inwards or the drain holes in its base block, the water comes back into the room. We reset the tilt slightly outwards, clean the pan and drain holes, and check the frame is sealed so no water runs down the sides.
Can a faulty thermostat cause the compressor to cycle on and off rapidly?
Yes. A faulty thermostat can send wrong signals that make the compressor cut in and out abnormally, straining the circuit and reducing cooling. The technician tests the thermostat with instruments and separates it from other causes such as the relay or a supply voltage issue before any part is replaced.
My shop is sealed and the unit leaks inside, what is the solution?
In sealed shops, the drain clogs fast and water pools. We inspect the drain, coil and tilt, clear the blockage or reposition the unit to improve drainage.
We are near the sea and salt corrodes metal, does the unit wear faster here?
Yes, airborne salt corrodes the condenser and metal casing quickly. We clean the unit regularly and inspect for corrosion on every visit.
The unit is in a window between crowded shops, can you access it?
Yes, but we need to coordinate with neighbouring shop owners. Tell us the exact location and we will arrange safe access without disrupting their business.
Power cuts are frequent in the district, does this harm the unit?
Yes, frequent power cuts stress the compressor and circuits. We recommend a voltage regulator to keep the power steady to the unit.
