When your window unit needs attention

  1. 1

Weak cooling even on full power

The room stays warm even with the unit running at full. Most often the coil or filter is blocked with the dust and salt Jeddah's air carries; cleaning them brings the cooling back without any parts.

  2. 2

    Water leaking into the room

Dripping inside the room does not always mean a mechanical fault. The unit needs a slight tilt toward the outside so condensate runs away. We check the tilt, the drain tray and the drain holes before anything else.

  3. 3

Loud noise or a fan that will not spin

Grinding or heavy vibration usually points to a fan with broken blades, a worn shaft or a foreign object inside the unit. A fan that does not start while the compressor hums is often a failed run capacitor.

Who it's for

  • Your flat's window unit drips onto the floor

We check the unit tilt, drain tray and drain holes on site and correct the real cause so the dripping does not return.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Describe the fault

WhatsApp us what is happening: noise, drip or weak cooling. A photo of the front of the unit helps us know the model before the visit.

  2. 2

    On-site diagnosis

The technician checks the filter, coil, fan, capacitor and thermostat in order, then tells you the real cause and what the repair needs before he starts.

  3. 3

    Repair or replace call

If the repair is practical we complete it in the same visit. If the unit is old, the chassis is deeply rusted or the compressor fault is complex, we say so plainly and explain your options.

  4. 4

    Run test and handover

After the repair we run the unit, check the cooling, confirm the drain flows and watch the current settle, then leave the room clean.

What sets this district apart

Al Naseem is a relatively modern residential district with standalone villas and medium-sized flats with calm spacing between buildings. Many residents chose window units for their simplicity and low cost, but intense heat, coastal humidity and inadequate routine maintenance cause quick failures. Clogged coils, weak capacitors and slow drainage cause leaks, noise and poor cooling, and correct diagnosis before replacement saves money and time.

Al Naseem sits in central Jeddah's urban core, a relatively modern residential district with standalone villas and reasonably spaced flats.

Most villas and flats in Al Naseem have one window unit in the main location, with some adding an optional second.

The AC setup in Al Naseem

  1. 1

Single window unit in main location

Most villas and flats in Al Naseem have one unit mounted in a living-room or main bedroom window.

  2. 2

Optional second unit in some larger villas

Larger villas may add a second unit for an extra bedroom or lounge to improve thermal distribution.

  3. 3

Blocked drainage from dust and humidity

Coastal humidity and dust clog drainage quickly in Al Naseem, requiring regular cleaning to prevent leaks.

FAQ

Questions about Window AC repair

Can a window unit be repaired in the same visit?

Many faults, a clogged filter, a dirty coil, a failed run capacitor and a wrong tilt, are fixed in a single visit. If the unit needs a part the technician does not carry, we arrange a second visit once it is sourced.

How does Jeddah's salty air affect a window unit?

The damp salty air from the sea speeds up corrosion on the metal chassis, fan blades and coil fins. Units on sea-facing walls or higher floors corrode faster. We check how deep the rust goes and tell you honestly whether the unit is worth repairing or whether the chassis has reached the point where replacement saves more.

The unit runs but the compressor will not start. What causes that?

The most common cause is a failed run capacitor that can no longer give the compressor or fan the starting push it needs. The relay is the second likely cause. The technician tests both with instruments and confirms which is at fault before replacing anything.

Why does my window unit drip water into the room?

A window unit drains condensate out of the back, so if it tilts inwards or the drain holes in its base block, the water comes back into the room. We reset the tilt slightly outwards, clean the pan and drain holes, and check the frame is sealed so no water runs down the sides.

Can a faulty thermostat cause the compressor to cycle on and off rapidly?

Yes. A faulty thermostat can send wrong signals that make the compressor cut in and out abnormally, straining the circuit and reducing cooling. The technician tests the thermostat with instruments and separates it from other causes such as the relay or a supply voltage issue before any part is replaced.

My unit drips a little water daily, should I be concerned?

Light dripping may be normal but constant dripping points to slow drainage or a dirty coil. We visit, inspect and clean the drain and coil if needed.

My window is modern and the old unit doesn't fit, can you install a new one that matches it?

Yes, we measure the modern window and choose an efficient modern window unit that fits the space and specs. We install it safely and fit it with the home's look.

The unit clicks loudly when starting, is that an electrical fault?

Could be a weak capacitor, dirty coil or loose mounting. We thoroughly inspect it, identify the cause and repair it if possible.

Summer heat is very high and the unit runs almost 24/7, is that normal in Al Naseem?

Yes, Jeddah is very hot and coastal humidity is high, so the unit works hard. Keeping the coil, filter and drain clean improves efficiency and reduces running hours.
