When your window unit needs attention

  1. 1

Weak cooling even on full power

The room stays warm even with the unit running at full. Most often the coil or filter is blocked with the dust and salt Jeddah's air carries; cleaning them brings the cooling back without any parts.

  2. 2

    Water leaking into the room

Dripping inside the room does not always mean a mechanical fault. The unit needs a slight tilt toward the outside so condensate runs away. We check the tilt, the drain tray and the drain holes before anything else.

  3. 3

Loud noise or a fan that will not spin

Grinding or heavy vibration usually points to a fan with broken blades, a worn shaft or a foreign object inside the unit. A fan that does not start while the compressor hums is often a failed run capacitor.

Who it's for

  • Your flat's window unit drips onto the floor

We check the unit tilt, drain tray and drain holes on site and correct the real cause so the dripping does not return.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Describe the fault

WhatsApp us what is happening: noise, drip or weak cooling. A photo of the front of the unit helps us know the model before the visit.

  2. 2

    On-site diagnosis

The technician checks the filter, coil, fan, capacitor and thermostat in order, then tells you the real cause and what the repair needs before he starts.

  3. 3

    Repair or replace call

If the repair is practical we complete it in the same visit. If the unit is old, the chassis is deeply rusted or the compressor fault is complex, we say so plainly and explain your options.

  4. 4

    Run test and handover

After the repair we run the unit, check the cooling, confirm the drain flows and watch the current settle, then leave the room clean.

What sets this district apart

Taiba is a modern residential district with detached villas and low-rise apartments set across open spaces, and most residents prefer window units in main rooms for easy installation without architectural changes. Hot weather and seasonal winds can shake the frames or drive dust into the coil quickly, and drain pan leaks are common if the external slope is wrong. Our team inspects every part from coil to compressor and capacitor before deciding whether repair is worthwhile or replacement is better.

Taiba lies in northeast Jeddah, a modern residential area with scattered villas and low-rise blocks set among open green spaces.

Most window units here are fitted into wide window frames or custom openings and often suffer leaks from inadequate drainage slope toward the outside.

The AC setup in Taiba

  1. 1

Window unit in a wide frame

Villas and blocks here have wide windows, making unit installation straightforward but drain maintenance critical to prevent leakage.

  2. 2

    External drain with slight slope

Units drain directly outside, and the slope must be sufficient to carry water away from the villa wall.

  3. 3

Multiple separate units in larger villas

Larger villas may have several window units in different rooms, each requiring separate inspection and repair.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Taiba

  1. 1

Ensure safe access to the outdoor unit

Confirm the team can safely reach the outdoor unit and coil without climbing or ground hazards.

  2. 2

Clear the window area of furniture and items

Remove furniture and decorations around the window so the team can inspect and repair the unit freely.

  3. 3

Know where the circuit breaker is

Help us locate the circuit breaker or switch for the window unit before the visit.

FAQ

Questions about Window AC repair

Can a window unit be repaired in the same visit?

Many faults, a clogged filter, a dirty coil, a failed run capacitor and a wrong tilt, are fixed in a single visit. If the unit needs a part the technician does not carry, we arrange a second visit once it is sourced.

How does Jeddah's salty air affect a window unit?

The damp salty air from the sea speeds up corrosion on the metal chassis, fan blades and coil fins. Units on sea-facing walls or higher floors corrode faster. We check how deep the rust goes and tell you honestly whether the unit is worth repairing or whether the chassis has reached the point where replacement saves more.

The unit runs but the compressor will not start. What causes that?

The most common cause is a failed run capacitor that can no longer give the compressor or fan the starting push it needs. The relay is the second likely cause. The technician tests both with instruments and confirms which is at fault before replacing anything.

Why does my window unit drip water into the room?

A window unit drains condensate out of the back, so if it tilts inwards or the drain holes in its base block, the water comes back into the room. We reset the tilt slightly outwards, clean the pan and drain holes, and check the frame is sealed so no water runs down the sides.

Can a faulty thermostat cause the compressor to cycle on and off rapidly?

Yes. A faulty thermostat can send wrong signals that make the compressor cut in and out abnormally, straining the circuit and reducing cooling. The technician tests the thermostat with instruments and separates it from other causes such as the relay or a supply voltage issue before any part is replaced.

My unit leaks but still cools, should I replace it now?

Not necessarily. The drain pan may be blocked or the external slope insufficient. We check the outlet, coil and pan first, clean them or adjust the slope before recommending replacement.

The villas are spread out and streets are wide here, does that make repairs easier?

Yes, the open space makes it easier for the team to reach both indoor and outdoor units without obstacles, and we can check the external drain and coil more readily.

Seasonal winds are strong here, do they affect window units?

Yes, winds drive dust and sand into the coil quickly, and vibration can loosen bolts. We clean the coil regularly and check the frame tightness and connections at each visit.

Does a weakening capacitor reduce cooling performance?

Yes, a weak capacitor makes the compressor work harder and reduces cooling efficiency. We check it regularly and recommend replacement before complete failure to preserve cooling power.
