When your display fridge needs attention

  1. 1

    Glass fogs or sweats

In Jeddah's humid air and air-conditioned shops, moisture collects on the door glass or thick frost builds up. The cause is usually the door frame heater resistance or the door seal; the site decides which.

  2. 2

    Stock spoiling or uneven temperatures

If upper shelves are warmer than lower ones, or open multideck zones read outside the required range, a fan fault or blocked cold-air path is likely. We measure shelf temperatures along the cabinet and find where the fault lies.

  3. 3

Hot condenser in a poorly cooled shop

A display cabinet throws a lot of heat into the shop floor. When the shop's cooling is insufficient, the condenser air temperature rises, the compressor works harder and the cabinet loses its chill. The fix starts with assessing the cabinet's location and the ventilation around it.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Send a photo

WhatsApp a photo of the cabinet, your district and a brief description of the problem; the team can prepare the right tools before the visit.

  2. 2

    Site survey and measurement

The technician measures shelf temperatures, inspects the condenser, fans, air curtain and door seals, and reviews the ventilation around the cabinet before touching anything.

  3. 3

    Diagnosis and explanation

After measuring we tell you exactly what is wrong and what needs to be done, and you approve the work before the technician starts.

  4. 4

    Repair and verify

We fix the fault, then re-measure shelf temperatures and verify the air curtain, lighting and fans before leaving the shop.

What sets this district apart

Al Khalidiyah is an active commercial district west of Jeddah with diverse shops, restaurants and cafés, marked by hot weather and coastal humidity ranging from moderate to high seasonally. Fridges here work in an environment that promotes corrosion and oxidation on condensers and metal parts because of salt spray and nearness to the sea, affecting cooling efficiency and glass quality. Regular checks extend cabinet life and reduce unexpected repair costs.

Al Khalidiyah lies west of Jeddah near the coast, a mixed commercial district with diverse shops, restaurants and services.

Al Khalidiyah shops use various display fridge sizes depending on product type, with condensers directly exposed to coastal air and moisture.

The AC setup in Al Khalidiyah

  1. 1

Fridges exposed directly to coastal air

Most Al Khalidiyah fridges are near shop entrances or street-facing windows, exposing the condenser directly to coastal air and salt spray.

  2. 2

    Condensers requiring rust protection

Metal parts and condensers here oxidise quickly, requiring protective coatings and regular cleaning.

  3. 3

    Humidity-resistant fridge designs

Al Khalidiyah fridges are typically designed with strong seals and effective drainage to withstand high coastal humidity.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Al Khalidiyah

  1. 1

Tell us the fridge location relative to the sea

Tell us directly if the fridge is very close to the beach or not, as this affects salt levels, humidity and the maintenance schedule.

  2. 2

Ensure water drainage around the fridge

Make sure the fridge area is dry and water does not pool around it, as excess moisture accelerates corrosion and oxidation.

  3. 3

Alert us to any visible rust or corrosion

Let us know if you see rust or oxidation marks on the condenser or outer parts, so we can focus treatment on them.

FAQ

Questions about Display fridges & chillers

Why does thick frost build up on open multideck shelves?

An open multideck relies on a cold air curtain to keep shop air out. If the fan weakens or nearby AC airflow deflects the curtain, shop humidity enters the cabinet and frost builds. We check fan speed, air curtain direction and temperature at several points along the cabinet to find exactly where the fault is.

Does shop temperature affect how the display fridge performs?

Yes, and in Jeddah this is more noticeable in summer when the heat load rises. The condenser rejects heat into shop air; when that air is warm, the compressor works harder and shelf temperatures rise. We assess the cabinet's position and its distance from AC supply diffusers as part of the survey.

The cabinet lighting is dim or flickering; is that something you handle?

Yes, cabinet lighting is part of the service. Internal lighting matters to how your product looks, and a wiring fault there can affect other circuits. We check the wiring and driver and replace the faulty component as part of the job.

My display fridge is an unfamiliar brand; can you still work on it?

Display cabinet faults are mostly common across brands: refrigeration circuit, fan, air curtain, door seal, frame heater. We diagnose by measurement, not by brand. If a replacement part is needed we tell you before going further and you decide.

Can a new display cabinet be installed in an existing shop?

Yes, but the site decides what is needed. We assess the electrical supply, drain route and cabinet position relative to AC diffusers before installation; where the cabinet sits affects the air curtain and the shop's overall cooling load. The survey sets out exactly what is required before any work begins.

Salt spray and humidity from the sea damage the fridge, how do you protect it?

We regularly inspect metal parts and the condenser for rust and oxidation. We use salt-resistant cleaners and apply protective coatings when needed.

The glass stays fogged despite cleaning, is that from coastal humidity?

Coastal humidity and internal condensation cause rapid fogging. We check seals and the air curtain, and clean the glass with products that resist continuous fogging.

The fridge is near the beach with humid air, does it need more maintenance than elsewhere?

Yes, coastal conditions speed up corrosion and condensation. We recommend thorough inspection every two months instead of three.

Our power supply is affected by humidity, is the fridge safe on the electrical circuit?

We carefully inspect electrical connections and grounding in humid coastal conditions. We confirm adequate moisture protection and proper earthing before operation.
