When your display fridge needs attention

  1. 1

    Glass fogs or sweats

In Jeddah's humid air and air-conditioned shops, moisture collects on the door glass or thick frost builds up. The cause is usually the door frame heater resistance or the door seal; the site decides which.

  2. 2

    Stock spoiling or uneven temperatures

If upper shelves are warmer than lower ones, or open multideck zones read outside the required range, a fan fault or blocked cold-air path is likely. We measure shelf temperatures along the cabinet and find where the fault lies.

  3. 3

Hot condenser in a poorly cooled shop

A display cabinet throws a lot of heat into the shop floor. When the shop's cooling is insufficient, the condenser air temperature rises, the compressor works harder and the cabinet loses its chill. The fix starts with assessing the cabinet's location and the ventilation around it.

Who it's for

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Send a photo

WhatsApp a photo of the cabinet, your district and a brief description of the problem; the team can prepare the right tools before the visit.

  2. 2

    Site survey and measurement

The technician measures shelf temperatures, inspects the condenser, fans, air curtain and door seals, and reviews the ventilation around the cabinet before touching anything.

  3. 3

    Diagnosis and explanation

After measuring we tell you exactly what is wrong and what needs to be done, and you approve the work before the technician starts.

  4. 4

    Repair and verify

We fix the fault, then re-measure shelf temperatures and verify the air curtain, lighting and fans before leaving the shop.

What sets this district apart

Al Ruwais is an active commercial district with several medium and small shops, restaurants and cafés on a main street and side markets. Streets are relatively wider than in old downtown, and buildings are fairly modern. Intense summer heat and coastal humidity from the nearby sea strain cooling systems and speed salt and moisture build-up on condensers. Display fridges here work hard because of brisk foot traffic and frequent door openings, requiring regular cleaning and inspection.

Al Ruwais is in central Jeddah, an active commercial zone on a main street with side markets and close to the coast.

Most cabinets here are dual-door or open display units mounted directly on shop frontages.

The AC setup in Al Ruwais

  1. 1

    Dual-door display chillers on shopfronts

Al Ruwais shops use dual-door chillers mounted directly on shopfronts to attract customers with product displays.

  2. 2

Open display cases in small shops

Small shops and cafés use simple open cases for drinks and fresh products.

  3. 3

Outdoor units on narrow walls and coastal facades

Outdoor units are wall-mounted on narrow shopfronts or limited roofs because of tight land in the commercial zone.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Al Ruwais

  1. 1

Pinpoint the outdoor unit location on the wall or roof

Tell us precisely where the outdoor unit is (on which wall, at what height, on which roof) before the visit to save time.

  2. 2

Confirm safe access to the outdoor unit

If the unit is on a high wall or roof, confirm entry is safe and the path is clear of obstacles.

  3. 3

Schedule the visit outside peak hours

Scheduling outside peak commercial hours makes our work easier and keeps your shop running smoothly.

FAQ

Questions about Display fridges & chillers

Why does thick frost build up on open multideck shelves?

An open multideck relies on a cold air curtain to keep shop air out. If the fan weakens or nearby AC airflow deflects the curtain, shop humidity enters the cabinet and frost builds. We check fan speed, air curtain direction and temperature at several points along the cabinet to find exactly where the fault is.

Does shop temperature affect how the display fridge performs?

Yes, and in Jeddah this is more noticeable in summer when the heat load rises. The condenser rejects heat into shop air; when that air is warm, the compressor works harder and shelf temperatures rise. We assess the cabinet's position and its distance from AC supply diffusers as part of the survey.

The cabinet lighting is dim or flickering; is that something you handle?

Yes, cabinet lighting is part of the service. Internal lighting matters to how your product looks, and a wiring fault there can affect other circuits. We check the wiring and driver and replace the faulty component as part of the job.

My display fridge is an unfamiliar brand; can you still work on it?

Display cabinet faults are mostly common across brands: refrigeration circuit, fan, air curtain, door seal, frame heater. We diagnose by measurement, not by brand. If a replacement part is needed we tell you before going further and you decide.

Can a new display cabinet be installed in an existing shop?

Yes, but the site decides what is needed. We assess the electrical supply, drain route and cabinet position relative to AC diffusers before installation; where the cabinet sits affects the air curtain and the shop's overall cooling load. The survey sets out exactly what is required before any work begins.

My shop is near the coast; do salt and humidity damage the chiller?

Yes, high humidity and salt speed up corrosion and frost on the condenser. We recommend inspection every six weeks and regular cleaning of the condenser and coils.

The main street is busy and customers constantly open the door; what should we do?

Frequent door openings stress the cooling system. We inspect the air curtain and coils regularly and may recommend improved sealing or adjusting the target temperature.

The chiller is mounted in a deep shopfront; how do you manage the tight space?

We agree with you on the best way to reach the outdoor unit and identify a safe maintenance spot before the visit.

Power to the outdoor unit is on a damp coastal wall; is there a safety risk?

Coastal humidity requires special attention to earthing and electrical insulation. We inspect all connections and earthing and recommend extra protection if needed.
