When your display fridge needs attention

  1. 1

    Glass fogs or sweats

In Jeddah's humid air and air-conditioned shops, moisture collects on the door glass or thick frost builds up. The cause is usually the door frame heater resistance or the door seal; the site decides which.

  2. 2

    Stock spoiling or uneven temperatures

If upper shelves are warmer than lower ones, or open multideck zones read outside the required range, a fan fault or blocked cold-air path is likely. We measure shelf temperatures along the cabinet and find where the fault lies.

  3. 3

Hot condenser in a poorly cooled shop

A display cabinet throws a lot of heat into the shop floor. When the shop's cooling is insufficient, the condenser air temperature rises, the compressor works harder and the cabinet loses its chill. The fix starts with assessing the cabinet's location and the ventilation around it.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Send a photo

WhatsApp a photo of the cabinet, your district and a brief description of the problem; the team can prepare the right tools before the visit.

  2. 2

    Site survey and measurement

The technician measures shelf temperatures, inspects the condenser, fans, air curtain and door seals, and reviews the ventilation around the cabinet before touching anything.

  3. 3

    Diagnosis and explanation

After measuring we tell you exactly what is wrong and what needs to be done, and you approve the work before the technician starts.

  4. 4

    Repair and verify

We fix the fault, then re-measure shelf temperatures and verify the air curtain, lighting and fans before leaving the shop.

What sets this district apart

Prince Fawaz South is a mixed residential and commercial area with small groceries, restaurants and cafés using medium-sized display chillers. These small shops often sit in tight spaces with walls close by, blocking ventilation to the outdoor units and speeding dust and salt buildup. Poor condenser airflow raises temperature quickly in summer, damaging stored products, especially beverages and dairy.

Prince Fawaz South is in south Jeddah, a mixed district of small groceries and restaurants.

Most small shops here use medium-capacity display chillers with outdoor units mounted on the rear or side walls of the shop.

The AC setup in Prince Fawaz South

  1. 1

Medium-capacity display units for small groceries

Small shops in Prince Fawaz South use medium-sized units suited to tight spaces and mixed inventory.

  2. 2

Outdoor units on rear and side walls

Outdoor units mount on the shop's exterior walls, potentially restricting condenser clearance and airflow.

  3. 3

Systems for beverages, dairy and fresh goods

Chillers here hold heat-sensitive products demanding precise temperature control.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Prince Fawaz South

  1. 1

Tell the shop owner the visit time in advance

Small shops may close or reduce operations during maintenance, so coordinate the time with the owner to minimise lost sales.

  2. 2

Check that the outdoor unit is easily accessible

Wall-mounted units may be blocked by obstructions, signs or cables. Ensure safe access before the visit day.

  3. 3

Provide safe space for the team's tools

Small shops have limited space, so designate a safe corner inside or outside the shop to store maintenance tools.

FAQ

Questions about Display fridges & chillers

Why does thick frost build up on open multideck shelves?

An open multideck relies on a cold air curtain to keep shop air out. If the fan weakens or nearby AC airflow deflects the curtain, shop humidity enters the cabinet and frost builds. We check fan speed, air curtain direction and temperature at several points along the cabinet to find exactly where the fault is.

Does shop temperature affect how the display fridge performs?

Yes, and in Jeddah this is more noticeable in summer when the heat load rises. The condenser rejects heat into shop air; when that air is warm, the compressor works harder and shelf temperatures rise. We assess the cabinet's position and its distance from AC supply diffusers as part of the survey.

The cabinet lighting is dim or flickering; is that something you handle?

Yes, cabinet lighting is part of the service. Internal lighting matters to how your product looks, and a wiring fault there can affect other circuits. We check the wiring and driver and replace the faulty component as part of the job.

My display fridge is an unfamiliar brand; can you still work on it?

Display cabinet faults are mostly common across brands: refrigeration circuit, fan, air curtain, door seal, frame heater. We diagnose by measurement, not by brand. If a replacement part is needed we tell you before going further and you decide.

Can a new display cabinet be installed in an existing shop?

Yes, but the site decides what is needed. We assess the electrical supply, drain route and cabinet position relative to AC diffusers before installation; where the cabinet sits affects the air curtain and the shop's overall cooling load. The survey sets out exactly what is required before any work begins.

Our small display unit has stopped cooling entirely, what is wrong?

The condenser may be dust-blocked or the air curtain broken. We clean the condenser and fans, check the air curtain for faults and repair what is needed.

My shop is tight and the outdoor unit sits close to the wall, does that cause problems?

Yes, close walls block the condenser airflow and raise temperature. We check the space around the outdoor unit, clear all vents, and may suggest moving it if feasible.

Salt deposits build up on the condenser quickly, does it hurt performance?

Yes, salt deposits clog the condenser vents and cut cooling efficiency. We clean it regularly with a safe acid solution to remove buildup and protect performance.

Drinks in the cabinet are warm on one side and cold on the other, how do we fix this?

Uneven air distribution may stem from blocked air ducts or fan failure. We inspect and clear the ducts, test the fans to ensure even distribution throughout.
