Clean ducts, no broken ceilings

AC duct cleaning in Al Hindawiyah

In Al Hindawiyah, central Jeddah's older district of adjoining multi-storey blocks with narrow, winding air ducts, AC duct cleaning removes dust and grime built up deep inside pipes and plenums. Alrabih's team cleans from existing access points without opening ceilings or walls.

When your home ducts need cleaning

  1. 1

    Cool air that carries dust

You turn the AC on and see a puff of dust from the grilles settling on surfaces. The cause is usually buildup on the inner duct walls, not just the grille face, and wiping the grille alone does not fix it.

  2. 2

A smell when the AC runs

A smell appears the moment you start the AC, then fades or lingers in the room. The source is often moisture in the return-air box or organic matter in a branch duct, and mechanical cleaning is the first step before any other treatment.

  3. 3

A concealed unit that has run for years

Concealed or ceiling-hidden units often run for years without the duct network being opened. In Jeddah's dusty, humid air, dust and moisture bind together and cake inside branch ducts, reducing how evenly the air distributes through the rooms.

Who it's for

  • Living in a villa with ceiling-concealed AC units

We survey the branch duct layout on each floor and clean the grilles and return-air box through existing access points without touching the ceiling finish or walls.

  • Taking over an older flat with ducts never cleaned

We start with a survey of the return-air box and branch ducts to assess the buildup, then clean the full network including the return box before you move in.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Survey the network

The technician checks the branch duct layout, available access points and the return-air box to plan the cleaning method that suits your network without breaking any ceiling.

  2. 2

    Protect the room

Before removing any grille we cover furniture and floors so that loosened dust does not fall on the room contents while we work.

  3. 3

    Clean ducts and return box

We remove deposits from branch ducts through access points and open grille positions, then clean the return-air box where most of the heavy dust settles before reaching the unit.

  4. 4

    Refit and test

We refit all grilles, run the unit and check that air reaches each room evenly, then leave the space clean when we finish.

What sets this district apart

Al Hindawiyah is an old, densely populated district of adjoining residential blocks with tight roofs, narrow alleys and shared walls. Central AC is rare here, but many units have large branch ducts embedded in shared walls and ceilings. Dust and salt from outside air and moisture accumulate quickly in these ducts, especially in poorly ventilated spots or older lower-floor units. Deep cleaning improves airflow and air quality and cuts bad smells and allergies.

Al Hindawiyah lies in downtown Jeddah, an old residential district of adjoining apartment blocks, narrow streets and limited roof space.

Most units in Al Hindawiyah have branch ducts distributed within walls and ceilings rather than a central system, and access points are usually limited but exist at windows and wall openings.

The AC setup in Al Hindawiyah

  1. 1

Branch ducts distributed in shared walls

In Al Hindawiyah, branch ducts are typically fixed inside shared walls between flats, with limited access points at windows and openings.

  2. 2

Few but sufficient access points for cleaning

Old Al Hindawiyah flats have few access points, but we can efficiently clean ducts and return boxes through them.

  3. 3

Return-air boxes in hallways or bathrooms

Return-air boxes here are often tucked in tight hallways or bathroom and kitchen corners, and need regular cleaning as grime settles fast.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Al Hindawiyah

  1. 1

Locate all duct access points and tell us where they are

Identify all grille openings, window vents and boxes connected to branch ducts, and let us know if any are stuck or hard to open.

  2. 2

Move heavy furniture from hallways and corners

Al Hindawiyah is tight and flats are cramped. Make sure to shift large furniture and shelves from hallways and corners to help team movement and duct access.

  3. 3

Cover floors and remaining furniture before we start

Arrange with the team on visit day to cover floors and furniture, as duct cleaning may release accumulated dust in the area.

FAQ

Questions about AC duct cleaning

Can you clean ducts without opening the false ceiling?

In most homes we work through the room grilles and existing access points without touching the ceiling. If the network is fully sealed with no access, the technician explains at the survey what can be reached and whether anything extra is needed.

Is cleaning the room grilles enough on its own?

Cleaning the grilles improves appearance, but most of the buildup is inside the branch ducts and the return-air box. Grille cleaning alone does not address what the airflow carries out, so our work covers the grille, the duct and the return box together.

Do we need to leave the house while you clean and sanitise?

Usually not. We work room by room, cover furniture and floors, and vacuum the dust straight out of the duct so it does not spread through the house. If anyone at home is sensitive to dust or smells, we suggest they stay out of the room we are working in until it is finished and aired.

What if one room still gets less air than the others after cleaning?

Low airflow to one room after cleaning may point to a restriction in that branch duct or a damper that is not set correctly. The technician checks this during the final run and tells you the cause and next step, whether that is a damper adjustment or something else.

Does duct cleaning improve how evenly the cold air spreads across rooms?

Heavy buildup inside a branch duct narrows its cross-section and reduces the air reaching that room. Removing the deposit restores the original opening and improves distribution. If a difference between rooms remains after cleaning, the cause may be a damper position or the network design, and the technician explains this during the final check.

The flat is old and ducts are inside walls, can you clean them without breaking walls?

Yes, we use existing access points like window openings, grilles and return boxes, and we do not open walls or ceilings in Al Hindawiyah.

The flat is small and crammed with furniture, how will your team get in?

Before the visit, tell us the flat size and furniture layout, and we will help shift heavy pieces carefully. We cover remaining furniture and floors fully.

Are ducts very narrow in the old blocks of Al Hindawiyah?

Yes, branch ducts here are often narrow and winding, but we have specialist flexible tools to clean from existing access points without needing to widen them.

What is the difference between dust I see on the grilles and grime inside the ducts?

The dust you see on grilles is a small part only. Heavy grime, salt and moisture build up deep inside ducts and return boxes, causing smells, allergies and reduced efficiency.
