When duct quality makes the difference

  1. 1

    Duct losing cold air

An open seam or an unsealed joint loses cold air before it reaches the room. We close every seam with Foster sealant in the workshop before shipping, so the seal does not depend on site work alone.

  2. 2

    Condensation wetting the ceiling

In Jeddah's humid air any bare metal surface sweats and drips onto the ceiling or damages the unit insulation. We wrap with Kimmco or Armaflex at the thickness the site calls for.

  3. 3

A project with many duct runs

A villa or commercial building needs main trunks, branches and plenums in several sizes. We make sections in the workshop numbered to the site plan, so the hanging crew assembles without cutting or adjusting.

Who it's for

  • Replacing your villa's AC and need new ductwork

We make supply and return trunks and plenums to your villa's dimensions, insulated and numbered, ready for the hanging crew without any on-site cutting.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Send sizes or drawings

Send us the duct drawing or a list of section sizes. If sizes are not fixed yet, we agree a site survey before production starts.

  2. 2

    Review sizes and sheet gauge

We check each section's dimensions and pick the right sheet thickness for the duct size, then confirm quantities with you before cutting begins.

  3. 3

    Fabricate, seal and insulate

We cut and fold the G90 galvanised sheet, lock the seams with Foster sealant, and wrap each section with Kimmco or Armaflex insulation in the workshop before shipment.

  4. 4

    Number and deliver

We mark each section with its position and dimension from the site plan, so the hanging team identifies every piece without confusion and starts work on arrival.

What sets this district apart

Al Aqeeq is a modern district with villas spread across wide spaces and medium-sized residential projects, plus modern commercial and office buildings. Central AC systems here cover large floor areas with long duct runs crossing different building sections. Cutting ducts on site leaves gaps and significant cold-air loss especially in the hottest periods, whereas pre-made ducts with full insulation keep coolness intact and noticeably cut energy consumption.

Al Aqeeq is in north Jeddah, a district of spread-out villas and modern commercial buildings across wide open spaces.

Most projects in Al Aqeeq need long, highly insulated ducts to maintain coolness across large floor areas, especially through the intense summer months.

The AC setup in Al Aqeeq

  1. 1

    Long ducts with high insulation

The large villas and commercial buildings here need very long ducts, which manufacturing with high insulation keeps cool across the long distances.

  2. 2

Balanced distribution system across multiple zones

Factory-made ducts allow balanced distribution across different building sections without unnecessary cold loss.

  3. 3

Tight joints to prevent pressure leakage

Factory sections arrive with tight joints ready to connect without cutting or modifying on site.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Al Aqeeq

  1. 1

    Confirm final exact dimensions

Before confirming the date, ensure all dimensions, distances and angles are final and will not change.

  2. 2

Designate truck access and storage space

Ensure the delivery truck can reach the site and there is safe dry space to store the sections.

  3. 3

Ready the installation team before delivery

Brief the installation team on delivery day so they are ready and have the tools and lifting gear to hand.

FAQ

Questions about AC duct manufacturing

How do you make sure the duct does not leak air at the seams?

We close the long seams with a tight mechanical lock as the sheet is formed, then seal every seam and every joint between sections with Foster sealant before insulating. Sections leave the workshop with matching flanges that tighten evenly when hung, because any small gap in cold duct means lost air and a point where condensation forms.

Does the duct arrive ready to hang, or is it assembled on site?

Sections arrive fabricated, insulated, sealed and numbered to the route drawing, so the fitters know where each piece goes without cutting or altering on site. What is left on site is joining the sections, fixing them to the hangers and connecting the unit and outlets, which shortens the work above the ceiling.

Do you make plenums for cassette and cabinet units?

Yes, we fabricate plenums for both types. A cassette unit plenum is measured to match the unit's outlet frame exactly so air reaches the branch runs without leaking at the connection. A cabinet unit plenum is made to carry both the supply and return paths if the design calls for it. Both types are insulated with Kimmco or Armaflex and sealed with Foster sealant before they leave the workshop.

Can you manufacture duct for a large commercial project?

Yes. The workshop is equipped to fabricate large supply and return trunk runs suited to commercial, government and industrial buildings. Each section is made to the project drawings, numbered and delivered ready to hang after insulation and sealing. When engineering drawings are available, the technical team reviews them before fabrication starts to confirm that the duct dimensions fit the ceiling voids on site.

Why are the duct sections insulated in the workshop before delivery?

The duct carries cold air through a ceiling void that may be hot and humid. Without external insulation, water vapour condenses on the cold sheet and drips onto the false ceiling or the goods below. So each section is wrapped in Kimmco or Armaflex in our workshop and every edge and joint is sealed with Foster sealant before delivery.

The intense heat here increases cold-air loss, how do you address this?

High insulation and sealed joints cut cold loss substantially, and pre-made ducts far outperform on-site cutting in these conditions.

The wide spaces here need very long ducts, does this affect performance?

Long ducts need extra care with insulation and sealing, and we calculate pressure and distribution precisely to ensure cool air reaches every corner evenly.

Does sealing and insulation quality affect electricity bills?

Yes, airtight fully insulated ducts noticeably cut electricity use because the compressor does not have to work harder to offset cold loss.

How do you handle sudden changes to the project design?

Changes after manufacturing starts delay the project and raise costs, so we insist on final exact dimensions before we begin any work.
