Who needs workshop-fabricated duct?

  1. 1

    A contractor with project-specific sizes

Your project has non-standard sizes or volumes too large for site cutting. We fabricate rectangular and round sections from your drawings at exact dimensions, labelled and ready to hang when they reach the site.

  2. 2

Fittings too awkward to cut on site

Elbows, transitions, offsets and takeoffs come out distorted when cut by hand on site, leaking air and creating noise in the line. We make them in the workshop at the right dimensions with tight seams.

  3. 3

Extending or renovating an existing duct network

You need new branches, a damaged section replaced or a fitting that matches an old duct size. We measure the existing network on site and fabricate the pieces to match what is already there.

Who it's for

  • Building a facility that needs non-standard duct sizes

We read your project drawings and fabricate all sections and fittings at exact dimensions from G90 or aluminium sheet, labelled and ready to hang the moment they reach your site.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Take measurements

A technician visits the site or you send us the drawings; we list every duct section needed, its size and the correct sheet thickness for that section.

  2. 2

    Fabricate sections and fittings

We cut, form and lock the sheet in the workshop, including all elbows, transitions, offsets and takeoffs, and each section comes out at its exact dimension.

  3. 3

    Label and prepare for delivery

We number every section and fitting against the assembly plan so the installation crew knows exactly where each piece goes, with no guessing on site.

  4. 4

    Deliver to site

We deliver the duct to your Jeddah site protected and ready to hang. If you need an installation crew, we can arrange that as a separate step.

Some of our work

Ductwork, rooftop units and diffusers, from work we've completed in Jeddah.

  • Galvanized rectangular duct trunk with branch takeoffs and round diffusers, hung from a black ceiling, a Carrier unit visible behind — interior finishing stage.
  • Round diffusers and a spiral duct trunk in a tiled stairwell service shaft.
  • Rooftop ductwork and an exhaust fan, with Jeddah buildings in the background.
  • Rooftop packaged AC units with rectangular duct transitions, city buildings behind.
  • Insulated rooftop duct run beside a packaged unit, a warehouse roof in the background.
  • A grid of round diffusers in an open-plan office ceiling, mid-construction.
  • An insulated rooftop duct elbow, against a mountainous backdrop.
  • Large insulated ductwork running along a factory ceiling, with workers visible below.
  • A yellow round diffuser mid-installation, with spiral duct and a suspended ceiling grid.
  • Duct insulation wrap in progress on a construction site, bare duct still exposed.
  • A black-painted duct trunk with round diffusers and track lighting, in a finished retail interior.
  • An indoor AHU unit connected to round ductwork in a mechanical plant room, exposed concrete ceiling.

What sets this district apart

Al Murooj's new buildings are standardised residential complexes, each needing similar but independent ductwork. Pre-workshop fabrication ensures consistent dimensions and quality across repeated projects, allowing swift installation at each complex site without remeasuring or rework.

Al Murooj sits in far north Jeddah, a rapidly growing modern residential area of standardised housing complexes.

Most complexes here use a standardised central ducting system serving repeated residential units of identical design.

The AC setup in Al Murooj

  1. 1

Unified central duct for the complex

Most Al Murooj complexes use a unified central duct network serving multiple residential units of the same dimensions and specs.

  2. 2

    Separate branch duct per unit

Each residential unit has its own branch duct from the central line, allowing independent control and easier maintenance.

  3. 3

    Round duct for final distribution

Final branches to room supply vents typically use round duct to save space and maintain aesthetic consistency.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Al Murooj

  1. 1

    Obtain architectural and structural drawings

Before the site survey, obtain copies of the complex's architectural drawings and proposed duct routes through ceilings and walls.

  2. 2

    Allocate temporary duct storage space

Let us know where the fabricated duct sections will be temporarily stored on site before installation, ensuring adequate space and weather protection.

  3. 3

Coordinate with installation team and contractor

Ensure the installation team is ready when duct arrives, and align the schedule with the main contractor to avoid project delays.

FAQ

Questions about Duct fabrication

Can you fabricate from drawings without visiting the site?

Yes, when the drawings are clear and carry the actual as-built dimensions. If a dimension is uncertain or a field change has been made, we prefer a site visit to avoid a fabricated piece that does not fit. We discuss the better approach with you before starting work.

What is the difference between galvanized and aluminium sheet for duct?

G90 galvanized sheet is the standard choice for interior duct: strong and suited to a range of pressures. Aluminium is lighter and handles Jeddah's coastal humidity and salt air better, making it right for some exposed applications or where structural load is a limiting factor. The correct choice depends on the site.

Can you make elbows and transitions to match an existing duct network?

Yes. We measure the existing network on site to match sizes precisely, whether you need a new branch added, a damaged fitting replaced or an extension tied into the original ductwork. The right approach is confirmed after the site visit.

How do you choose sheet thickness for each section?

Thickness follows section size: a large duct needs heavier sheet to hold its shape under pressure, a small one can use lighter material. We apply the SMACNA requirements to each section in the project individually, not a single thickness across the whole job.

Does Jeddah's humidity and salt air affect which sheet material to use?

Yes, particularly for sections exposed to outdoor air or installed near fresh-air intakes. G90 galvanized sheet performs well inside the building, but aluminium is the better choice where duct is in continuous contact with Jeddah's humid, salt-laden air. The site survey determines the right material for each section.

Do you fabricate duct for standardised residential complexes?

Yes, we fabricate unified duct networks for multiple identical units in a complex, ensuring consistent dimensions and quality each time.

If we need the same duct for another complex, can you repeat it with the same accuracy?

Exactly; we retain the measurements and specifications and can reproduce them with the same accuracy, saving time and cost on repeated projects.

Al Murooj is new; are the foundations and ceilings stable for heavy ductwork?

New buildings typically have strong structural designs, but we recommend confirming the structural consultant's approval of installation routes before fabrication.

How do you deliver large duct sections to the complex site?

We use suitable vehicles to transport the fabricated sections, and coordinate with the site about unloading points and temporary storage before installation.
