Who needs workshop-fabricated duct?

  1. 1

    A contractor with project-specific sizes

Your project has non-standard sizes or volumes too large for site cutting. We fabricate rectangular and round sections from your drawings at exact dimensions, labelled and ready to hang when they reach the site.

  2. 2

Fittings too awkward to cut on site

Elbows, transitions, offsets and takeoffs come out distorted when cut by hand on site, leaking air and creating noise in the line. We make them in the workshop at the right dimensions with tight seams.

  3. 3

Extending or renovating an existing duct network

You need new branches, a damaged section replaced or a fitting that matches an old duct size. We measure the existing network on site and fabricate the pieces to match what is already there.

Who it's for

  • Building a facility that needs non-standard duct sizes

We read your project drawings and fabricate all sections and fittings at exact dimensions from G90 or aluminium sheet, labelled and ready to hang the moment they reach your site.

  • Renovating home AC and need fittings to match old duct

We measure the existing ductwork in your home and fabricate the branches, transitions and elbows needed to match the original duct without replacing the whole network.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Take measurements

A technician visits the site or you send us the drawings; we list every duct section needed, its size and the correct sheet thickness for that section.

  2. 2

    Fabricate sections and fittings

We cut, form and lock the sheet in the workshop, including all elbows, transitions, offsets and takeoffs, and each section comes out at its exact dimension.

  3. 3

    Label and prepare for delivery

We number every section and fitting against the assembly plan so the installation crew knows exactly where each piece goes, with no guessing on site.

  4. 4

    Deliver to site

We deliver the duct to your Jeddah site protected and ready to hang. If you need an installation crew, we can arrange that as a separate step.

Some of our work

Ductwork, rooftop units and diffusers, from work we've completed in Jeddah.

  • Galvanized rectangular duct trunk with branch takeoffs and round diffusers, hung from a black ceiling, a Carrier unit visible behind — interior finishing stage.
  • Round diffusers and a spiral duct trunk in a tiled stairwell service shaft.
  • Rooftop ductwork and an exhaust fan, with Jeddah buildings in the background.
  • Rooftop packaged AC units with rectangular duct transitions, city buildings behind.
  • Insulated rooftop duct run beside a packaged unit, a warehouse roof in the background.
  • A grid of round diffusers in an open-plan office ceiling, mid-construction.
  • An insulated rooftop duct elbow, against a mountainous backdrop.
  • Large insulated ductwork running along a factory ceiling, with workers visible below.
  • A yellow round diffuser mid-installation, with spiral duct and a suspended ceiling grid.
  • Duct insulation wrap in progress on a construction site, bare duct still exposed.
  • A black-painted duct trunk with round diffusers and track lighting, in a finished retail interior.
  • An indoor AHU unit connected to round ductwork in a mechanical plant room, exposed concrete ceiling.

What sets this district apart

Al Rimal comprises medium-sized buildings, mid-rise flats, commercial centres, clinics and shops, with more efficient layouts than older districts. Duct networks here are smaller and less complex than large hotels but still need full precision in measurement and fabrication. Workshop fabrication from site measurements or drawings ensures perfect fit within the tight passages and limited ceiling heights in these buildings.

Al Rimal sits in Jeddah's south, an area of medium-sized residential and commercial buildings with relatively modern planning.

Most buildings here use central AC with medium-sized rectangular ductwork because of limited floor counts and moderate floor plates.

The AC setup in Al Rimal

  1. 1

    Medium-sized rectangular duct

Medium-sized flats and shops here need rectangular duct with balanced dimensions between efficiency and available space.

  2. 2

    Limited offsets and transitions

The relatively regular building design reduces the need for overly complex transitions, so the duct flows fairly directly.

  3. 3

    Precise joints without leakage

We connect duct in the workshop with high precision so it arrives intact with no gaps, maintaining cooling efficiency across all units.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Al Rimal

  1. 1

Send the flat or building floor plan

Tell us the floor dimensions and location of the central room and outlets in each unit so we can fabricate the duct precisely.

  2. 2

Point out where the old duct enters

If there is old duct, show us its path and where it ends so we can calculate the new duct length and transitions needed.

  3. 3

Confirm team access to the central plant room

Check that the central cooling room is easy for the team to reach on installation day to hang the duct from the starting point.

FAQ

Questions about Duct fabrication

Can you fabricate from drawings without visiting the site?

Yes, when the drawings are clear and carry the actual as-built dimensions. If a dimension is uncertain or a field change has been made, we prefer a site visit to avoid a fabricated piece that does not fit. We discuss the better approach with you before starting work.

What is the difference between galvanized and aluminium sheet for duct?

G90 galvanized sheet is the standard choice for interior duct: strong and suited to a range of pressures. Aluminium is lighter and handles Jeddah's coastal humidity and salt air better, making it right for some exposed applications or where structural load is a limiting factor. The correct choice depends on the site.

Can you make elbows and transitions to match an existing duct network?

Yes. We measure the existing network on site to match sizes precisely, whether you need a new branch added, a damaged fitting replaced or an extension tied into the original ductwork. The right approach is confirmed after the site visit.

How do you choose sheet thickness for each section?

Thickness follows section size: a large duct needs heavier sheet to hold its shape under pressure, a small one can use lighter material. We apply the SMACNA requirements to each section in the project individually, not a single thickness across the whole job.

Does Jeddah's humidity and salt air affect which sheet material to use?

Yes, particularly for sections exposed to outdoor air or installed near fresh-air intakes. G90 galvanized sheet performs well inside the building, but aluminium is the better choice where duct is in continuous contact with Jeddah's humid, salt-laden air. The site survey determines the right material for each section.

We want to upgrade our old central AC, do you fabricate new duct?

Yes, we fabricate complete new duct networks for upgrades. We measure the existing site and fabricate new duct to fit the space perfectly, delivering it ready to hang.

The passages between flats are narrow, how does the duct fit through?

We fabricate duct with complex transitions that thread through tight passages without needing on-site cuts. The duct arrives from the workshop in these custom shapes ready to use.

Jeddah's dust might clog the duct openings, is that a risk?

Yes, dust can build up at the outlets. We fabricate with careful drainage in mind and recommend air filters at the outlets to protect the duct network.

Can the drywall ceilings in the flats support metal duct weight?

Metal duct needs strong supports and cannot hang directly from drywall. We coordinate with the installation team to use sturdy metal frameworks attached to the main structure or concrete ceiling.
