When your commercial fridge needs attention

  1. 1

    Temperature creeping up slowly

The fridge runs but no longer reaches its old temperature. In Jeddah's hot kitchens, grease builds on the condenser quickly, robbing it of the ability to shed heat and straining the compressor. We check the blockage on site and decide what is needed.

  2. 2

    Condenser fan stopped or slowed

The condenser fan draws air across the condensing coil. When it stops or slows, heat rises fast and the compressor cuts out on its thermal protector. We test the motor and the run capacitor and replace what has failed as part of the repair.

  3. 3

    Door gasket not sealing properly

A cracked or burned gasket lets warm, humid kitchen air in constantly. The result is a compressor that never rests, condensation forming inside the cabinet and an unstable temperature. We measure the existing gasket and replace it with the right size for that door.

What sets this district apart

Al Bawadir is a growing north-east neighbourhood seeing a rise in restaurants, small hotels and shops. Buildings are relatively new with decent space, but the climate is very hot and humidity is high, putting strong pressure on cooling. Restaurant and shop display fridges run long hours to meet rising demand, and grease and dust build on the condenser faster than in other districts. Weekly or monthly preventive servicing is essential here to avoid sudden breakdowns and food loss or reputation damage.

Al Bawadir is a growing north-east neighbourhood experiencing rapid commercial expansion and rising restaurant and shop density.

Many new hotels and restaurants in Al Bawadir have modern display fridges and separate storage units, with outdoor units on sun-exposed building roofs.

  1. 1

Modern display fridges in restaurants and hotels

New restaurants and hotels in Al Bawadir invest in modern display fridges with energy-saving tech, but they need specialist servicing to maintain efficiency.

  2. 2

    Separate horizontal storage fridges

Most new restaurants have large horizontal storage fridges in kitchens, separate from display units, running under heavy load during most trading hours.

  3. 3

Multiple outdoor units on large restaurant roofs

Larger restaurants may have multiple outdoor units to spread the load, raising waste heat and creating ventilation and servicing challenges.

    Clear adequate space around fridges

Remove food, boxes and furniture around both indoor and outdoor fridges to give the team safe, easy access to all parts.

FAQ

Questions about Commercial fridge service

My kitchen fridge runs all the time but does not cool enough. What is wrong?

In most cases the condenser is blocked with grease and dust, which is common in Jeddah kitchens where steam and smoke build up fast. A worn door gasket letting warm kitchen air in constantly is another likely cause. We check both on site and tell you which is the problem, or whether both need attention.

Do you service prep counters and under-counter fridges as well?

Yes, our service covers upright fridges, prep counters, under-counter units and bottle coolers in restaurants, bakeries and groceries. We ask for the model in advance so the technician arrives with the right tools and parts for that unit's size and type.

How does Jeddah's humidity affect kitchen fridges?

Warm, humid air enters through any worn gasket and condenses inside the cabinet, raising the load on the compressor and speeding gasket wear. Salt in Jeddah's sea air also corrodes condenser parts over time. That is why we check gaskets and the condenser condition carefully at every service visit.

Can the fridge be repaired without shutting the kitchen down?

For most repairs, yes. Cleaning the condenser and replacing a fan motor or gasket takes the fridge out of service for a short time only. If the repair needs the refrigerant recovered and recharged we tell you the expected time beforehand so you can prepare your stock.

Why does water keep collecting inside my kitchen fridge?

The most common cause is a worn door gasket letting humid kitchen air in, which then condenses on the walls and shelves. A blocked defrost drain at the base of the unit is another frequent cause. We check the gaskets and the drain line on site and identify the problem before starting any repair.

Our neighbourhood is growing fast and new restaurants are opening, does this affect cooling service?

Yes, demand is growing rapidly. We focus on regular preventive visits to avoid sudden breakdowns, and we pre-book service slots with restaurants to ensure availability when needed.

Heat on new building roofs here is intense, what do you advise?

We advise installing sunshades round outdoor units and cleaning the condenser monthly. Intense heat significantly raises load and cuts efficiency.

Humidity here is high and restaurants cook a lot, do these speed up problems?

Yes, humidity and cooking grease together accelerate rust, mould and wear rapidly. Cleaning the condenser and recharging motor oil every six weeks is essential.

We have a new restaurant with a new fridge, is servicing different from older ones?

New fridges are more efficient but demand high-precision servicing. We handle electronic motors and sensors carefully and avoid changing any part unless truly necessary.
