When you need a medical HVAC specialist
- 1
Hospital or clinic under construction
The right design starts before any duct is installed, because ventilation and filtration needs differ from the surgical suite to the waiting area. An early survey saves costly alterations after the building is finished.
- 2
Departments reporting warm air or odours
In an existing medical building, weak cooling in one department or odours crossing into an adjacent area signals an imbalance in the air distribution or extraction system. Finding the cause needs measurement, not guesswork.
- 3
Maintenance contract for a running facility
A hospital does not close for equipment servicing. We schedule preventive maintenance visits department by department, coordinated with facility management, and carry out repairs with the smallest possible effect on daily operations.
Who it's for

How we work
How we work
- 1
Survey and requirements
We visit the facility, map the heat loads and air requirements for each department, and agree the duct routes before any design work begins.
- 2
Design and supply
We design the duct network and fabricate it in our own workshop to SMACNA specifications, and supply units from our authorised brands: Carrier, YORK, General, Midea, Gree and Smart Gold.
- 3
Phased coordinated installation
In operating buildings we work with management to phase the installation so adjacent departments stay open, and control dust and noise away from patient areas.
- 4
Commissioning and follow-up
We commission the systems, measure airflow in each department, and adjust the dampers until the design requirements are met, then hand over the facility with a maintenance plan.

What sets this district apart
Hospitals in Al Asaliyah span wide areas and hold multiple adjacent departments, each with different heat and humidity loads. Operating theatres need tight control of temperature, humidity and clean air, while care and nursery wards demand constant stability. That diversity means maintenance must happen while the hospital runs without stopping any service, and close coordination between Alrabih and hospital management is essential to avoid any interruption.
Al Asaliyah sits in south Jeddah and holds several hospitals and health facilities in modern, well-spaced buildings.
Most hospitals here run central AC systems with large outdoor units and extensive ductwork serving care wards and operating areas.
The AC setup in Al Asaliyah
- 1
Central system with separate ducts for each department
Hospital departments need a unified system but with separate ducts and control dampers to adjust temperature and humidity in each zone.
- 2
Large outdoor units on the roof
Modern hospitals in Al Asaliyah place outdoor units on raised roofs to save ground space and improve airflow around them.
- 3
Digital control systems with distributed sensors
Each department has temperature and humidity sensors linked to a central controller that adjusts performance automatically as needed.

FAQ
Questions about Hospital HVAC
How do ventilation needs differ across hospital departments?
Ventilation needs vary from one department to the next based on the activity in each area and the requirements set by the facility's designer and the site survey. Operating theatres need highly filtered, directionally controlled air, while patient rooms, corridors and administrative areas each carry different requirements. We build the duct network and select units from the facility's drawings and its specific requirements, not from general assumptions.
Can systems be maintained without stopping sensitive departments?
Yes, but it requires careful planning before the maintenance date. We agree with facility management on a schedule that names the section and the right time window, then isolate the target section using dampers and blanking plates without affecting adjacent departments. Corrective tasks such as replacing a capacitor or repairing a flare joint are carried out within the agreed time window.
What governs duct network design in a medical building?
Design is governed by the approved facility drawings and each department's requirements as defined by the site survey and the specialist designer. We fabricate ducts in our own workshop from G90 galvanised sheet to project dimensions, and use Kimmco and Armaflex insulation with Foster sealants to control leakage. Distribution and pressure in each section follow the specifications drawn for that department individually.

Do you work with small clinics or only hospitals?
We work with medical facilities of all sizes, from a clinic in a residential district to a multi-storey medical complex. The size of the facility does not change the principle: the site survey is the starting point, and from it we determine unit types, duct dimensions and fresh-air requirements for each zone. Preventive and corrective maintenance contracts are available for clinics and hospitals alike.
Can you service the AC without stopping hospital operations?
Yes, we schedule maintenance around the hospital's timetable and work on separate sections at set times. We deploy extra staff if needed to minimise any interruption.
The hospital has many departments with different cooling loads, how do you design the system?
We visit each department, understand its ventilation, temperature and humidity needs, then design separate distribution ducts and control units for each zone.
Coastal humidity is high here, does it affect hospital equipment?
Yes, high humidity speeds corrosion in coils and pipes. We specify rust-resistant equipment and clean the system regularly to keep it performing well.
The outdoor cooling units will go on the roof, does the roof support the load?
We need a structural survey of the roof before installation to confirm it can support the units' weight and to choose the best mounting point.
