When you need a medical HVAC specialist

  1. 1

    Hospital or clinic under construction

The right design starts before any duct is installed, because ventilation and filtration needs differ from the surgical suite to the waiting area. An early survey saves costly alterations after the building is finished.

  2. 2

Departments reporting warm air or odours

In an existing medical building, weak cooling in one department or odours crossing into an adjacent area signals an imbalance in the air distribution or extraction system. Finding the cause needs measurement, not guesswork.

  3. 3

Maintenance contract for a running facility

A hospital does not close for equipment servicing. We schedule preventive maintenance visits department by department, coordinated with facility management, and carry out repairs with the smallest possible effect on daily operations.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Survey and requirements

We visit the facility, map the heat loads and air requirements for each department, and agree the duct routes before any design work begins.

  2. 2

    Design and supply

We design the duct network and fabricate it in our own workshop to SMACNA specifications, and supply units from our authorised brands: Carrier, YORK, General, Midea, Gree and Smart Gold.

  3. 3

    Phased coordinated installation

In operating buildings we work with management to phase the installation so adjacent departments stay open, and control dust and noise away from patient areas.

  4. 4

    Commissioning and follow-up

We commission the systems, measure airflow in each department, and adjust the dampers until the design requirements are met, then hand over the facility with a maintenance plan.

Some of our work

Ductwork, rooftop units and diffusers, from work we've completed in Jeddah.

  • Galvanized rectangular duct trunk with branch takeoffs and round diffusers, hung from a black ceiling, a Carrier unit visible behind — interior finishing stage.
  • Round diffusers and a spiral duct trunk in a tiled stairwell service shaft.
  • Rooftop ductwork and an exhaust fan, with Jeddah buildings in the background.
  • Rooftop packaged AC units with rectangular duct transitions, city buildings behind.
  • Insulated rooftop duct run beside a packaged unit, a warehouse roof in the background.
  • A grid of round diffusers in an open-plan office ceiling, mid-construction.
  • An insulated rooftop duct elbow, against a mountainous backdrop.
  • Large insulated ductwork running along a factory ceiling, with workers visible below.
  • A yellow round diffuser mid-installation, with spiral duct and a suspended ceiling grid.
  • Duct insulation wrap in progress on a construction site, bare duct still exposed.
  • A black-painted duct trunk with round diffusers and track lighting, in a finished retail interior.
  • An indoor AHU unit connected to round ductwork in a mechanical plant room, exposed concrete ceiling.

What sets this district apart

Al Rawasi is a fast-growing zone in east Jeddah with a high concentration of hospitals, specialist clinics and modern medical centres. Medical buildings here are typically larger and newer than old neighbourhoods, requiring complex central or distributed AC systems covering multiple departments with precise control. Preventive maintenance is essential because any cooling failure could affect dozens of patients and sensitive medical equipment. High coastal humidity demands special treatment of evaporators and condensers.

Al Rawasi lies in east Jeddah, a rapidly expanding medical zone with large hospitals and modern specialist clinics.

Large hospitals in Al Rawasi use complex central AC systems with backup units, because precision control requirements and reliability are very high in these facilities.

The AC setup in Al Rawasi

  1. 1

    Advanced multi-zone central AC system

Large hospitals in Al Rawasi use complex central systems covering multiple departments with separate controls for each zone and care area.

  2. 2

Multiple backup units with secondary power source

An independent backup system with generator ensures critical departments stay cool if main power fails.

  3. 3

Advanced smart controls with remote monitoring

Modern hospitals need smart controls enabling temperature, humidity and performance monitoring from a central command centre or mobile device.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Al Rawasi

  1. 1

Request a formal appointment with hospital management

Formally coordinate with hospital management to choose a time that does not disrupt critical services and operations, and tell us about any safety or access restrictions.

  2. 2

Provide a complete building plan of the hospital

Share the complete building plan showing all departments, spaces, exits and outdoor unit locations so we can design the system accurately.

  3. 3

Ensure service team access to all areas

Check that our team can access the roof, exterior areas and internal corridors where cooling lines and backup units are located.

FAQ

Questions about Hospital HVAC

How do ventilation needs differ across hospital departments?

Ventilation needs vary from one department to the next based on the activity in each area and the requirements set by the facility's designer and the site survey. Operating theatres need highly filtered, directionally controlled air, while patient rooms, corridors and administrative areas each carry different requirements. We build the duct network and select units from the facility's drawings and its specific requirements, not from general assumptions.

Can systems be maintained without stopping sensitive departments?

Yes, but it requires careful planning before the maintenance date. We agree with facility management on a schedule that names the section and the right time window, then isolate the target section using dampers and blanking plates without affecting adjacent departments. Corrective tasks such as replacing a capacitor or repairing a flare joint are carried out within the agreed time window.

What governs duct network design in a medical building?

Design is governed by the approved facility drawings and each department's requirements as defined by the site survey and the specialist designer. We fabricate ducts in our own workshop from G90 galvanised sheet to project dimensions, and use Kimmco and Armaflex insulation with Foster sealants to control leakage. Distribution and pressure in each section follow the specifications drawn for that department individually.

Do you work with small clinics or only hospitals?

We work with medical facilities of all sizes, from a clinic in a residential district to a multi-storey medical complex. The size of the facility does not change the principle: the site survey is the starting point, and from it we determine unit types, duct dimensions and fresh-air requirements for each zone. Preventive and corrective maintenance contracts are available for clinics and hospitals alike.

What system type is best for large hospitals in Al Rawasi?

Large hospitals need a complex central system with backup units and smart controls monitoring each department, ensuring medical environment stability without interruption.

How do you handle high humidity and severe thermal load?

We coordinate multiple cooling units and advanced air handling units for efficient humidity removal, and follow a strict filter cleaning schedule to ensure peak performance in hot coastal conditions.

Do large hospitals need completely separate backup units?

Yes, we recommend an independent backup system connected to a generator to keep cooling running if the main system fails, especially in critical care areas.

Where do outdoor units go in a large hospital?

Outdoor units typically sit on the roof or a dedicated exterior area, and we size long copper runs to cover distances from outdoor units to all hospital departments.
