When you need a medical HVAC specialist

  1. 1

    Hospital or clinic under construction

The right design starts before any duct is installed, because ventilation and filtration needs differ from the surgical suite to the waiting area. An early survey saves costly alterations after the building is finished.

  2. 2

Departments reporting warm air or odours

In an existing medical building, weak cooling in one department or odours crossing into an adjacent area signals an imbalance in the air distribution or extraction system. Finding the cause needs measurement, not guesswork.

  3. 3

Maintenance contract for a running facility

A hospital does not close for equipment servicing. We schedule preventive maintenance visits department by department, coordinated with facility management, and carry out repairs with the smallest possible effect on daily operations.

Who it's for

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Survey and requirements

We visit the facility, map the heat loads and air requirements for each department, and agree the duct routes before any design work begins.

  2. 2

    Design and supply

We design the duct network and fabricate it in our own workshop to SMACNA specifications, and supply units from our authorised brands: Carrier, YORK, General, Midea, Gree and Smart Gold.

  3. 3

    Phased coordinated installation

In operating buildings we work with management to phase the installation so adjacent departments stay open, and control dust and noise away from patient areas.

  4. 4

    Commissioning and follow-up

We commission the systems, measure airflow in each department, and adjust the dampers until the design requirements are met, then hand over the facility with a maintenance plan.

Ductwork, rooftop units and diffusers, from work we've completed in Jeddah.

  • Galvanized rectangular duct trunk with branch takeoffs and round diffusers, hung from a black ceiling, a Carrier unit visible behind — interior finishing stage.
  • Round diffusers and a spiral duct trunk in a tiled stairwell service shaft.
  • Rooftop ductwork and an exhaust fan, with Jeddah buildings in the background.
  • Rooftop packaged AC units with rectangular duct transitions, city buildings behind.
  • Insulated rooftop duct run beside a packaged unit, a warehouse roof in the background.
  • A grid of round diffusers in an open-plan office ceiling, mid-construction.
  • An insulated rooftop duct elbow, against a mountainous backdrop.
  • Large insulated ductwork running along a factory ceiling, with workers visible below.
  • A yellow round diffuser mid-installation, with spiral duct and a suspended ceiling grid.
  • Duct insulation wrap in progress on a construction site, bare duct still exposed.
  • A black-painted duct trunk with round diffusers and track lighting, in a finished retail interior.

What sets this district apart

Al Shara'i is an active residential and commercial district with mid-sized buildings holding small specialist clinics, dental surgeries and medical laboratories often with housing above. These buildings need either simple central cooling or robust split units built to handle continuous operation during clinic hours. The high humidity and heat in Al Shara'i affect medical equipment and stored medicines, making regular AC maintenance a genuine necessity to maintain clinical standards.

Al Shara'i sits in north-east Jeddah, a mixed district of small residential and medical buildings with moderate urban density.

Most small medical clinics and laboratories in Al Shara'i use robust split units or reinforced window ACs because the spaces are compact.

The AC setup in Al Shara'i

  1. 1

Robust split units for small clinics

Most clinics and labs in Al Shara'i run on one or more high-capacity split units built to handle continuous operating hours.

  2. 2

Enhanced window units in very small spaces

A few very small clinics cannot fit a split unit, so they use reinforced window ACs with sturdy mounting and outdoor air protection.

  3. 3

Extra cooling coils for crowded waiting areas

Some clinics add extra cooling coils in waiting areas to cope with crowd heat and the extra thermal load from many patients.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Al Shara'i

  1. 1

Confirm the team's access to the building

Check the entrance location and parking availability nearby, and inform the clinic owner about the visit time to ease access.

  2. 2

Identify the outdoor unit location and available space

Before the visit, confirm where the outdoor unit will mount and that there is enough space with free airflow and no obstructions.

  3. 3

Provide information about medical equipment and fittings

Tell us about any medical equipment present and whether there are restrictions on operation during use of sensitive devices.

FAQ

Questions about Hospital HVAC

How do ventilation needs differ across hospital departments?

Ventilation needs vary from one department to the next based on the activity in each area and the requirements set by the facility's designer and the site survey. Operating theatres need highly filtered, directionally controlled air, while patient rooms, corridors and administrative areas each carry different requirements. We build the duct network and select units from the facility's drawings and its specific requirements, not from general assumptions.

Can systems be maintained without stopping sensitive departments?

Yes, but it requires careful planning before the maintenance date. We agree with facility management on a schedule that names the section and the right time window, then isolate the target section using dampers and blanking plates without affecting adjacent departments. Corrective tasks such as replacing a capacitor or repairing a flare joint are carried out within the agreed time window.

What governs duct network design in a medical building?

Design is governed by the approved facility drawings and each department's requirements as defined by the site survey and the specialist designer. We fabricate ducts in our own workshop from G90 galvanised sheet to project dimensions, and use Kimmco and Armaflex insulation with Foster sealants to control leakage. Distribution and pressure in each section follow the specifications drawn for that department individually.

Do you work with small clinics or only hospitals?

We work with medical facilities of all sizes, from a clinic in a residential district to a multi-storey medical complex. The size of the facility does not change the principle: the site survey is the starting point, and from it we determine unit types, duct dimensions and fresh-air requirements for each zone. Preventive and corrective maintenance contracts are available for clinics and hospitals alike.

How do you keep a dental clinic's cooling running uninterrupted during work hours?

We size the unit with enough capacity for continuous operation and keep quick-swap spares on hand; maintenance is done outside clinic hours to prevent downtime.

The clinics are small with limited space; how do you choose the right unit size?

We measure the space, account for heat from medical equipment, calculate the exact capacity needed, then select a unit that fits the available space and ventilation.

Medicines and medical samples need stable temperatures; can you maintain that?

We install precise thermostats and monitor performance regularly to prevent temperature swings, and we clean units frequently to avoid sudden cooling loss.

Do you offer rapid-response maintenance if an emergency breakdown happens?

Yes, we serve all Jeddah districts from 8 am to 8 pm, Saturday to Thursday. Send a photo of the problem via WhatsApp to get rapid priority.
