When you need a retail HVAC specialist

  1. 1

A new mall or shopping centre

A poor design from the start means cold zones next to stifling ones and endless tenant complaints. We study the heat load of each zone separately and choose the right unit type before the ceiling is built.

  2. 2

An existing shop with uneven cooling

The back of the shop is cold while the front near the door stays hot at peak hours. The cause is usually the air outlet layout or the unit size; a site survey identifies which and fixes the problem without replacing the whole system.

  3. 3

Condensate dripping on shelves or display

A single drip on stock or a glass display front damages the product and the shop's image. The cause is usually weak insulation, a blocked condensate line or an unlevel unit, all of which can be diagnosed and fixed in one visit.

Who it's for

  • Opening a new shop inside a mall

We design an independent unit for your space and install ductwork and condensate lines before finishing work so your opening is not delayed.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Site survey and loads

We visit the site and map every heat source: entrances, lighting, expected crowd density and facade orientation, then size the units correctly for each section.

  2. 2

    Design and materials

We design the duct network in our own workshop from G90 galvanised sheet to dimensions that give even air distribution, and select units from brands we distribute such as Carrier, YORK and Gree.

  3. 3

    Installation coordinated on site

We coordinate installation with the project programme so ductwork does not delay finishing trades, and run Mueller copper in runs of up to 30 metres without welded joints to reduce potential leak points.

  4. 4

    Start-up and maintenance contract

We start up the system and check air distribution in every section, then set a preventive and corrective maintenance schedule timed so work never overlaps with the shop's trading hours.

Some of our work

Ductwork, rooftop units and diffusers, from work we've completed in Jeddah.

  • Galvanized rectangular duct trunk with branch takeoffs and round diffusers, hung from a black ceiling, a Carrier unit visible behind — interior finishing stage.
  • Round diffusers and a spiral duct trunk in a tiled stairwell service shaft.
  • Rooftop ductwork and an exhaust fan, with Jeddah buildings in the background.
  • Rooftop packaged AC units with rectangular duct transitions, city buildings behind.
  • Insulated rooftop duct run beside a packaged unit, a warehouse roof in the background.
  • A grid of round diffusers in an open-plan office ceiling, mid-construction.
  • An insulated rooftop duct elbow, against a mountainous backdrop.
  • Large insulated ductwork running along a factory ceiling, with workers visible below.
  • A yellow round diffuser mid-installation, with spiral duct and a suspended ceiling grid.
  • Duct insulation wrap in progress on a construction site, bare duct still exposed.
  • A black-painted duct trunk with round diffusers and track lighting, in a finished retail interior.

What sets this district apart

Al Rabee is a modern district with multi-storey commercial complexes and shops in contemporary buildings with wide parking and open passages. Modern construction allows advanced central AC systems with large coils and insulated ducts, but higher system complexity means precise maintenance and regular cleaning are essential. Coordination with the complex management to set service times outside peak hours is crucial to avoid disrupting shopping.

Al Rabee sits in north Jeddah and is a modern commercial district with multi-storey complexes and shops in contemporary buildings.

Most complexes here use central AC systems with insulated coils and precisely distributed ducts for complete coverage.

The AC setup in Al Rabee

  1. 1

Central system with insulated coils and distributed ducts

Most large complexes here rely on one or more central units with insulated coils and ducts distributed across multiple floors.

  2. 2

Additional ceiling units for special zones

Some areas like restaurants and cafés may need additional ceiling units for separate control and better customer comfort.

  3. 3

    Smart heat recovery system

Some modern systems use heat recovery from outside air to reduce energy consumption during transitional seasons.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Al Rabee

  1. 1

A plan showing all floors, central unit locations, ducts and exits helps us understand the system correctly.

  2. 2

Coordinate maintenance times with complex management

We coordinate with complex management on maintenance times outside peak hours to protect customer and staff experience.

  3. 3

Ensure safe access to roof units and passages

FAQ

Questions about Mall & retail HVAC

How do you handle doors that open onto the street all day?

An open door pushes in hot humid air and spikes the heat load suddenly. We include that load in the design and direct a supply outlet above the entrance to form an air barrier that reduces mixing. The survey confirms which arrangement suits each specific doorway.

Do you install separate units for each mall tenant?

Yes. A separate unit per tenant means each shop controls its own cooling and a fault in one unit does not affect the neighbour. It also makes consumption readings straightforward and makes maintenance responsibility clear for each party.

Why do you prefer rooftop packaged units for malls?

A rooftop packaged unit keeps the condenser and evaporator in one casing above the roof, freeing every inch of shop floor from outdoor units and shortening the duct run. Maintenance happens on the roof without entering the shop, which fits scheduling work outside trading hours.

How do you handle Jeddah's heat and its effect on rooftop units?

Rooftop units in Jeddah work in hot, salty and dusty air that strains the condenser and speeds fin corrosion. We specify units with corrosion-resistant coatings and include coil cleaning and compressor and condenser checks in the preventive schedule of every maintenance contract.

Does air distribution design differ between a small shop and a large mall?

The site survey decides. A small shop may need only a concealed unit with directional grilles, while a mall requires a duct network with dampers zoned by area. In both cases the positions of lighting, visitor traffic and entry doors are recorded before supply outlets are placed.

We have a large multi-storey commercial complex; what does AC maintenance cost?

Maintenance depends on the number of units, duct and coil size and scope of work. Send us a photo of your system on WhatsApp and we will provide a detailed quote.

Our building is multi-storey; can your equipment reach the high roofs?

Yes, our team is equipped for high-roof work. We check access safety and scaffolding before the visit, and coordinate with building management to ensure security.

Outside air enters the shops from doors; does that reduce AC efficiency?

Yes, hot outside air increases system load. A correctly sized AC system handles this additional load, and insulated ducts reduce heat loss.

Do the coils and ducts need regular cleaning, and how often?

Yes, coils need cleaning every six months to a year depending on dust and humidity levels. Ducts are cleaned every one to two years. We create a maintenance plan suited to your building and send you regular reminders.
