Split AC installation in Al Qurayyat

In Al Qurayyat, south Jeddah, split installation in villas and flats requires smart siting because the area faces intense heat and persistent dust. Alrabih's team places the outdoor unit in shade if possible and carefully vacuums the line to ensure optimised performance from day one.

  • Mueller copper
  • Full vacuum
  • Proper drain

When you need a proper installer

  1. 1

A new unit for a room or flat

You have bought the unit, or are about to, and want it fitted once, not to find a refrigerant leak or water on the floor a few weeks later. Getting it right first time saves you all of that.

  2. 2

Not sure where the outdoor unit goes

In Jeddah flats the choice is usually the roof, the balcony or the facade. We pick a spot where the condenser gets enough air, a technician can reach it for servicing, and neither noise nor drain water bothers the neighbours.

  3. 3

A past install that went wrong

Weak cooling since day one, water running down the wall, a loud indoor unit. These are usually installation mistakes, not faults in the unit, and our installation is built step by step to avoid them.

Who it's for

  • Moving into a new flat that needs AC

We plan every unit position and copper route in one go, so the whole flat ends up neat and consistent.

    Ask on WhatsApp
  • Fitting AC in a shop or office

We place the units so cool air reaches the entrance and the work area, and arrange outdoor units and drains to suit the shopfront and the building's rules.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Send a photo

WhatsApp us a photo of the room, where the outdoor unit might go and your district, and we tell you what the job needs before the visit.

  2. 2

    Agree positions and route

On site, the technician agrees the unit positions and the copper and drain route with you before drilling any wall.

  3. 3

    Fit and vacuum

We mount both units, run and insulate the copper, then vacuum the line with a pump and check the joints before releasing the refrigerant held in the outdoor unit.

  4. 4

    Start-up and handover

We run the unit, measure the air coming out, check the drain flows, then leave the room clean and show you the remote and how to clean the filter.

Ductwork, rooftop units and diffusers, from work we've completed in Jeddah.

  • Galvanized rectangular duct trunk with branch takeoffs and round diffusers, hung from a black ceiling, a Carrier unit visible behind — interior finishing stage.
  • Round diffusers and a spiral duct trunk in a tiled stairwell service shaft.
  • Rooftop ductwork and an exhaust fan, with Jeddah buildings in the background.
  • Rooftop packaged AC units with rectangular duct transitions, city buildings behind.
  • Insulated rooftop duct run beside a packaged unit, a warehouse roof in the background.
  • A grid of round diffusers in an open-plan office ceiling, mid-construction.
  • An insulated rooftop duct elbow, against a mountainous backdrop.
  • Large insulated ductwork running along a factory ceiling, with workers visible below.
  • A yellow round diffuser mid-installation, with spiral duct and a suspended ceiling grid.
  • Duct insulation wrap in progress on a construction site, bare duct still exposed.
  • A black-painted duct trunk with round diffusers and track lighting, in a finished retail interior.

What sets this district apart

Al Qurayyat is a southern residential district with detached villas and apartment flats with relatively spacious plots. The area endures intense summer heat due to its southerly location and direct sun exposure on most walls. Dust and sand settle quickly on the outdoor coils, especially during windy seasons. Placing the outdoor unit in a shaded yard spot or behind a garden wall significantly cuts the cooling load. Periodic coil and filter cleaning is essential here.

Al Qurayyat lies south of Jeddah, a residential district of detached villas and flats directly exposed to intense summer heat.

Most villas here have spacious back yards allowing safe outdoor unit placement away from the street and neighbours.

The AC setup in Al Qurayyat

  1. 1

    Villa with spacious back yard

Al Qurayyat villas have spacious back yards allowing outdoor unit placement away from the street and direct heat.

  2. 2

    Shaded or sun-protected spot

We pick a naturally shaded spot or fit a light canopy to reduce heat load on the outdoor unit.

  3. 3

Extra-rigid fixing against wind and dust

Winds and sand in Al Qurayyat are strong, so we fix the unit with extra care and can cover it during wind season if needed.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Al Qurayyat

  1. 1

If a villa, choose a shaded spot in the yard

Before the visit, pick a spot in the back yard with natural shade for as long as possible, or tell us if a tree or wall gives shade.

  2. 2

Ensure the spot is accessible for mounting

Check the chosen outdoor spot is safe and reachable, and that the ground or wall can support the unit's weight.

  3. 3

Plan the copper run from outdoor to indoor unit

Choose which room gets the indoor unit, and check that the copper run can reach from the yard easily without obstacles.

FAQ

Questions about Split AC installation

Will you install a unit I bought elsewhere?

Yes, we install units you have bought yourself. Before the visit we ask the model, its capacity and where both units will go, so we know the copper length. If you have not bought one yet, we are an authorised distributor for Carrier, YORK, General, Midea, Gree and Smart Gold and can help you choose.

Why does the line need vacuuming before start-up?

New pipes hold air and moisture, and Jeddah's humid air adds more. Mixed with refrigerant, they weaken cooling and strain the compressor over time. We pull them out with a vacuum pump, watch that the reading holds so we know the line is tight, and only then release the refrigerant.

Can the outdoor unit be far from the room?

Yes, within the manufacturer's limits for line length and height difference. We use Mueller copper in runs of up to 30 metres without welded joints, so there are fewer joints that could leak, and the survey shows whether a long run needs extra refrigerant.

Can you hide the copper and cables in the wall?

It depends on the house. In a new build or during finishing works, the copper can run inside the wall before plastering. In a lived-in home we use neat plastic trunking in the wall colour. We show you the better option for your home at the survey, before any work starts.

What if the outside wall cannot carry the unit?

We check the wall before fixing anything, because some facades are clad in stone or panels that cannot take the weight. Then we set the unit on a floor stand on the roof or balcony, or on a bracket anchored to the concrete itself, not the cladding, so it does not shake loose.

Heat in Al Qurayyat is fierce, is a standard split unit enough?

It depends on room size and your home's thermal insulation. We assess the space and wall condition, and recommend the unit size best suited to handle the heat efficiently.

Dust here is intense, how often should I clean the coils?

We recommend cleaning the coils every month to two months in Al Qurayyat, especially during dust and wind season. Regular cleaning keeps efficiency up and cuts power use.

In an open back yard, where can I position the outdoor unit away from sun?

We pick a naturally shaded spot if available, such as under a tree or beside a wall that gives shade most of the day. If no shade exists, we can fit a light canopy or pergola over the unit.

Winds in Al Qurayyat are sometimes strong, do they affect the outdoor unit?

Yes, strong winds carry sand and dust and cause damage. We choose a relatively sheltered spot behind a wall or beside the building, and fix the unit with extra rigidity.
