Split AC installation in Al Zumurrud

In Al Zumurrud, north Jeddah, where modern villas spread across wide plots, split installation demands careful routing of insulated copper and the drain line to prevent leaks and noise. Alrabih's team places both units with precision and vacuums the refrigerant line before start-up to ensure it cools smoothly from day one.

  • Mueller copper
  • Full vacuum
  • Proper drain

When you need a proper installer

  1. 1

A new unit for a room or flat

You have bought the unit, or are about to, and want it fitted once, not to find a refrigerant leak or water on the floor a few weeks later. Getting it right first time saves you all of that.

  2. 2

Not sure where the outdoor unit goes

In Jeddah flats the choice is usually the roof, the balcony or the facade. We pick a spot where the condenser gets enough air, a technician can reach it for servicing, and neither noise nor drain water bothers the neighbours.

  3. 3

A past install that went wrong

Weak cooling since day one, water running down the wall, a loud indoor unit. These are usually installation mistakes, not faults in the unit, and our installation is built step by step to avoid them.

Who it's for

  • Moving into a new flat that needs AC

We plan every unit position and copper route in one go, so the whole flat ends up neat and consistent.

  • Fitting AC in a shop or office

We place the units so cool air reaches the entrance and the work area, and arrange outdoor units and drains to suit the shopfront and the building's rules.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Send a photo

WhatsApp us a photo of the room, where the outdoor unit might go and your district, and we tell you what the job needs before the visit.

  2. 2

    Agree positions and route

On site, the technician agrees the unit positions and the copper and drain route with you before drilling any wall.

  3. 3

    Fit and vacuum

We mount both units, run and insulate the copper, then vacuum the line with a pump and check the joints before releasing the refrigerant held in the outdoor unit.

  4. 4

    Start-up and handover

We run the unit, measure the air coming out, check the drain flows, then leave the room clean and show you the remote and how to clean the filter.

What sets this district apart

Al Zumurrud is a modern residential district dominated by villas with gardens and large outdoor spaces, which allows ample room for copper runs from indoor to outdoor units without strict architectural limits. Modern foundations and high ceilings make it easier to conceal pipes in walls or under floors, but confirming that expansion gaps and water drains are in place requires a careful check of the building's original plan. The high temperatures in the northern districts increase the need for thermal insulation on the copper, and the open setting of villas means the outdoor unit may face more wind and dust exposure than densely built areas.

Al Zumurrud is in north Jeddah, a district of modern, spaced-out villas with gardens and large outdoor grounds.

Most villas in Al Zumurrud use one or two split units depending on floor area, with outdoor units mounted on side or rear walls.

The AC setup in Al Zumurrud

  1. 1

Single split per floor or section

Large villas typically need one indoor unit per floor or separate architectural section to distribute cooling evenly.

  2. 2

Outdoor units on side or rear walls

The spaced-out villas in Al Zumurrud provide room to place outdoor units away from front facades, improving the villa's appearance.

  3. 3

Concealed copper runs under floors or within walls

The interior cavities in modern villas allow the copper and drain to be fully concealed, leaving the villa's outward appearance clean.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Al Zumurrud

  1. 1

Provide a sketch or description of the villa layout

Send us a simple sketch or photo of the villa's layout showing room locations, raised floor areas and drain points, so we can plan the copper routes precisely.

  2. 2

Confirm access to the garden and rear walls

Make sure the team can easily reach the garden and rear or side wall where the outdoor unit will go before installation day.

  3. 3

Get contractor approval if the villa is newly built

If the villa is incomplete or still under construction, agree with the builder or owner on routing before we arrive.

FAQ

Questions about Split AC installation

Will you install a unit I bought elsewhere?

Yes, we install units you have bought yourself. Before the visit we ask the model, its capacity and where both units will go, so we know the copper length. If you have not bought one yet, we are an authorised distributor for Carrier, YORK, General, Midea, Gree and Smart Gold and can help you choose.

Why does the line need vacuuming before start-up?

New pipes hold air and moisture, and Jeddah's humid air adds more. Mixed with refrigerant, they weaken cooling and strain the compressor over time. We pull them out with a vacuum pump, watch that the reading holds so we know the line is tight, and only then release the refrigerant.

Can the outdoor unit be far from the room?

Yes, within the manufacturer's limits for line length and height difference. We use Mueller copper in runs of up to 30 metres without welded joints, so there are fewer joints that could leak, and the survey shows whether a long run needs extra refrigerant.

Can you hide the copper and cables in the wall?

It depends on the house. In a new build or during finishing works, the copper can run inside the wall before plastering. In a lived-in home we use neat plastic trunking in the wall colour. We show you the better option for your home at the survey, before any work starts.

What if the outside wall cannot carry the unit?

We check the wall before fixing anything, because some facades are clad in stone or panels that cannot take the weight. Then we set the unit on a floor stand on the roof or balcony, or on a bracket anchored to the concrete itself, not the cladding, so it does not shake loose.

How many split units do modern villas in Al Zumurrud typically need?

It depends on the villa's floor area, number of rooms and ceiling heights; a 200-square-metre villa might need two or three units. We assess the space before recommending what suits your layout.

How do you run the copper from the garden to inside the villa?

We trace the best route through walls or under raised floors, use insulated protective conduit, and ensure the drain slopes correctly toward a safe outlet point.

Does Al Zumurrud's intense heat affect how you install the split?

Yes, we select stronger thermal insulation for the copper to minimise cooling loss, and recommend placing the outdoor unit in a shaded spot if possible to boost efficiency through the long summer.

The raised floors in modern villas are high, is it easy to run pipes underneath?

Yes, the cavity under raised floors offers an easy route for copper and drain runs, but we check first that no electrical wiring or water pipes are there to avoid conflicts.
