Split AC installation in Dhahban

Split AC installation in Dhahban, far north Jeddah, requires precise placement of both units and properly sloped copper to prevent dripping and noise. Alrabih's team vacuums the line before start-up to ensure cool, quiet performance from the start.

When you need a proper installer

  1. 1

A new unit for a room or flat

You have bought the unit, or are about to, and want it fitted once, not to find a refrigerant leak or water on the floor a few weeks later. Getting it right first time saves you all of that.

  2. 2

Not sure where the outdoor unit goes

In Jeddah flats the choice is usually the roof, the balcony or the facade. We pick a spot where the condenser gets enough air, a technician can reach it for servicing, and neither noise nor drain water bothers the neighbours.

  3. 3

A past install that went wrong

Weak cooling since day one, water running down the wall, a loud indoor unit. These are usually installation mistakes, not faults in the unit, and our installation is built step by step to avoid them.

Who it's for

  • Moving into a new flat that needs AC

We plan every unit position and copper route in one go, so the whole flat ends up neat and consistent.

    Ask on WhatsApp
  • Fitting AC in a shop or office

We place the units so cool air reaches the entrance and the work area, and arrange outdoor units and drains to suit the shopfront and the building's rules.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Send a photo

WhatsApp us a photo of the room, where the outdoor unit might go and your district, and we tell you what the job needs before the visit.

  2. 2

    Agree positions and route

On site, the technician agrees the unit positions and the copper and drain route with you before drilling any wall.

  3. 3

    Fit and vacuum

We mount both units, run and insulate the copper, then vacuum the line with a pump and check the joints before releasing the refrigerant held in the outdoor unit.

  4. 4

    Start-up and handover

We run the unit, measure the air coming out, check the drain flows, then leave the room clean and show you the remote and how to clean the filter.

Some of our work

Ductwork, rooftop units and diffusers, from work we've completed in Jeddah.

  • Galvanized rectangular duct trunk with branch takeoffs and round diffusers, hung from a black ceiling, a Carrier unit visible behind — interior finishing stage.
  • Round diffusers and a spiral duct trunk in a tiled stairwell service shaft.
  • Rooftop ductwork and an exhaust fan, with Jeddah buildings in the background.
  • Rooftop packaged AC units with rectangular duct transitions, city buildings behind.
  • Insulated rooftop duct run beside a packaged unit, a warehouse roof in the background.
  • A grid of round diffusers in an open-plan office ceiling, mid-construction.
  • An insulated rooftop duct elbow, against a mountainous backdrop.
  • Large insulated ductwork running along a factory ceiling, with workers visible below.
  • A yellow round diffuser mid-installation, with spiral duct and a suspended ceiling grid.
  • Duct insulation wrap in progress on a construction site, bare duct still exposed.
  • A black-painted duct trunk with round diffusers and track lighting, in a finished retail interior.

What sets this district apart

Dhahban is a relatively modern coastal district of upmarket villas and low-density residential buildings with large gardens and outdoor areas. Proximity to the sea means very high humidity and salt-laden air that rapidly corrodes copper runs and metal parts. Streets are wide and accessible, but distance from town centre requires precise timing. Protecting the copper and outdoor unit from salt and moisture is critical here more than in any other district.

Dhahban sits at the far north of Jeddah right on the coast, a modern area of upmarket villas and large green spaces.

Units in Dhahban are independent splits per villa, with outdoor units placed in highly exposed gardens directly exposed to salt-laden air and humidity.

The AC setup in Dhahban

  1. 1

    Independent split per villa

Each villa in Dhahban typically has its own independent split with a standalone outdoor unit in the garden.

  2. 2

Outdoor units exposed to coastal salt and humidity

Outdoor units in Dhahban sit in fully exposed gardens open to salt air, requiring extra protection and regular maintenance.

  3. 3

Copper runs protected with salt-resistant materials

We use very thick insulation and may add protective metal sleeves over runs to resist coastal salt and moisture.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Dhahban

  1. 1

Schedule in advance due to distance

Confirm the appointment clearly in advance since Dhahban is relatively remote and requires precise timing.

  2. 2

Carefully choose the outdoor-unit location in the garden

Select the best location away from windows and trees, and as far as possible from the seafront to minimise salt impact.

  3. 3

Ensure team access to garden and roof

Ensure the route from the entrance to the garden is safe and straightforward, and the roof or garden is ready to safely receive the team and equipment.

FAQ

Questions about Split AC installation

Will you install a unit I bought elsewhere?

Yes, we install units you have bought yourself. Before the visit we ask the model, its capacity and where both units will go, so we know the copper length. If you have not bought one yet, we are an authorised distributor for Carrier, YORK, General, Midea, Gree and Smart Gold and can help you choose.

Why does the line need vacuuming before start-up?

New pipes hold air and moisture, and Jeddah's humid air adds more. Mixed with refrigerant, they weaken cooling and strain the compressor over time. We pull them out with a vacuum pump, watch that the reading holds so we know the line is tight, and only then release the refrigerant.

Can the outdoor unit be far from the room?

Yes, within the manufacturer's limits for line length and height difference. We use Mueller copper in runs of up to 30 metres without welded joints, so there are fewer joints that could leak, and the survey shows whether a long run needs extra refrigerant.

Can you hide the copper and cables in the wall?

It depends on the house. In a new build or during finishing works, the copper can run inside the wall before plastering. In a lived-in home we use neat plastic trunking in the wall colour. We show you the better option for your home at the survey, before any work starts.

What if the outside wall cannot carry the unit?

We check the wall before fixing anything, because some facades are clad in stone or panels that cannot take the weight. Then we set the unit on a floor stand on the roof or balcony, or on a bracket anchored to the concrete itself, not the cladding, so it does not shake loose.

With coastal salt and humidity, how often should the unit be cleaned?

In Dhahban, we recommend checking and cleaning the outdoor unit every three months instead of the usual annual clean. Salt and humidity greatly accelerate corrosion.

Do we need special insulation in Dhahban?

Yes, we use thicker insulation and may add protective metal guards over the copper lines to shield them from coastal salt and moisture.

Does distance from town affect response time and later maintenance?

Distance requires precise scheduling in advance, but our team reaches Dhahban regularly. We recommend annual maintenance contracts since maintenance is far easier than repairing salt-induced damage.

With large gardens, how do you choose the best outdoor-unit location?

We choose a location as far as possible from windows and doors to reduce noise, away from trees and shrubs that might block airflow. Placing it back from the seafront reduces direct salt exposure.
