When a window unit is the right choice

  1. 1

A room with no outdoor unit space

Some rooms have no wall facing a suitable space for an outdoor unit. A window AC is the practical answer: one unit in the opening cools the room and expels heat directly outside.

  2. 2

An annex, staff housing or storeroom

Annexes, staff rooms and warehouses need real cooling without the cost of long copper and cable runs. A window unit suits these spaces well when the right opening exists or can be made.

  3. 3

An existing window of the right size

When a wall already has a window opening that matches the unit you have chosen, the frame fits straight in without cutting new concrete. We confirm at the survey that the opening suits the unit and the wall carries the load.

Who it's for

  • Need to cool a maid's room or home annex

We survey the opening or proposed wall in the annex, fit the unit in a secure frame and seal every gap so no hot humid air enters the space.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Send a photo

WhatsApp us a photo of the opening or the proposed wall and your district, so the technician arrives with the right frame and fixings.

  2. 2

    Site survey

On site the technician measures the opening, checks the wall, confirms there is a suitable power point near the unit, and agrees with you on any changes needed before starting.

  3. 3

    Fit and seal

We fit the frame level, set the unit with the correct outward tilt, then seal every gap around the frame so no hot air, dust or humidity enters.

  4. 4

    Start-up and handover

We run the unit, check the cooling and confirm condensate flows outward, then leave the space clean and show you how to clean the filter.

What sets this district apart

Al Naeem is a mixed residential-commercial district with flats alongside small shops and traders, featuring closer-spaced buildings and medium-sized windows with varied metal frames. Buildings are denser than other northern areas and streets slightly narrower, reducing natural airflow and raising humidity between blocks. Dust and salt from relative coastal proximity exist but lighter than beach zones. The challenge is selecting windows with safe access and strong sealing without interfering with neighbouring buildings.

Al Naeem is a mixed residential-commercial northern district with closely spaced buildings, near other northern residential zones.

Most Al Naeem windows are medium-sized with standard metal frames, requiring typical sealing against humidity and dust.

The AC setup in Al Naeem

  1. 1

Window unit in metal frame amid dense building

Standard metal frames suffice in Al Naeem, but close building spacing requires careful sealing against moisture.

  2. 2

Window units in flats and shop adjuncts

Flats and small spaces above or adjacent to shops use window units as economical, quick cooling.

  3. 3

Medium windows with moisture and dust protection

Medium windows with standard metal frames need moderate protection from salt, moisture and dust.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Al Naeem

  1. 1

Verify safe space for the outdoor unit outside

Ensure there is safe, adequate space outside the window for the outdoor unit without encroaching on the neighbouring building.

  2. 2

Tell us the nearest safe parking location

Al Naeem has narrow streets, so identify the nearest safe parking spot for the team before booking.

  3. 3

Clarify details if window is near neighbour's window

If the window is near a neighbouring building's window or connections, let us know so we plan installation carefully.

FAQ

Questions about Window AC installation

Can you cut a new opening in the wall if there is none?

Yes, if no suitable opening exists we can cut one. At the survey we check the wall type and thickness and look for columns or cables that might be in the way, then agree the best position with you before any cutting begins.

Why does the outward tilt matter on a window unit?

A window unit produces condensate on its indoor side throughout operation. If the unit sits level or tilts inward, water pools in the base and runs down the inside wall. A slight outward tilt sends that water to the back of the unit and out, away from the wall and furniture.

How do you seal the gaps around the frame given Jeddah's climate?

Jeddah combines high heat, humidity and salty sea air, so sealing materials must hold up in those conditions. We use insulating and sealing materials suited to the opening and wall type, and the survey determines the right choice based on the gap size and wall construction.

Does a window unit need its own power point?

A window unit draws a high current at start-up, and sharing a socket with other appliances strains the wiring and trips the breaker. The technician checks at the survey that a suitable socket is close to the unit position, and if one is not there we explain what is needed before installation proceeds.

Does the weight of a window unit affect how it is fixed?

Yes, the unit's weight directly affects how the frame is fixed and what support is needed. A concrete wall requires different treatment from a brick wall, and a wide opening needs more support than a narrow one. The technician decides at the survey what fixing method and materials suit the unit and the wall.

Buildings are very close together, is there enough space outside to fit a window unit?

It depends on the window location and neighbouring buildings. Please clarify the distance between facades and the window's position relative to adjacent structures before we visit.

Humidity between close buildings is very high, will drainage be sufficient?

Yes, humidity between close buildings is higher than open areas. We choose units with wider drain channels and ensure clear, unobstructed pipes.

The street is narrow and parking is difficult, how does your team reach the window?

We carry tools and equipment by hand when needed. Confirm the nearest safe parking point before booking and let us know.

The window is adjacent to the neighbouring shop's facade, could there be installation issues?

There may be tight margins or neighbouring connections nearby. We inspect the site before installation and cooperate with the neighbouring shop if needed.
