When a window unit is the right choice

  1. 1

A room with no outdoor unit space

Some rooms have no wall facing a suitable space for an outdoor unit. A window AC is the practical answer: one unit in the opening cools the room and expels heat directly outside.

  2. 2

An annex, staff housing or storeroom

Annexes, staff rooms and warehouses need real cooling without the cost of long copper and cable runs. A window unit suits these spaces well when the right opening exists or can be made.

  3. 3

An existing window of the right size

When a wall already has a window opening that matches the unit you have chosen, the frame fits straight in without cutting new concrete. We confirm at the survey that the opening suits the unit and the wall carries the load.

Who it's for

  • Need to cool a maid's room or home annex

We survey the opening or proposed wall in the annex, fit the unit in a secure frame and seal every gap so no hot humid air enters the space.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Send a photo

WhatsApp us a photo of the opening or the proposed wall and your district, so the technician arrives with the right frame and fixings.

  2. 2

    Site survey

On site the technician measures the opening, checks the wall, confirms there is a suitable power point near the unit, and agrees with you on any changes needed before starting.

  3. 3

    Fit and seal

We fit the frame level, set the unit with the correct outward tilt, then seal every gap around the frame so no hot air, dust or humidity enters.

  4. 4

    Start-up and handover

We run the unit, check the cooling and confirm condensate flows outward, then leave the space clean and show you how to clean the filter.

What sets this district apart

Al Rawdah is a western coastal district right on the seafront, mixing villas and residential flats with medium-sized windows. Direct coastal location means high humidity and salt-laden air, causing faster corrosion of metal and seals around the unit. Precise installation with salt and moisture-resistant sealing is essential, and correct outward tilt is critical to drain condensate away from interior walls that risk salt and moisture infiltration.

Al Rawdah sits on the western coast, a seaside residential district with constant exposure to salty air and high humidity.

Al Rawdah's windows are medium-sized, and outdoor units face direct coastal salt-laden air and humidity, requiring salt-resistant sealing.

The AC setup in Al Rawdah

  1. 1

Window unit with salt and moisture-resistant sealing

The coastal location calls for special seals around the frame to protect metal and gaskets from rapid corrosion.

  2. 2

Elevated drainage protected from salt water

The drain outlet is positioned to avoid salt spray from below whilst allowing condensate to flow freely.

  3. 3

    Salt-resistant corrosion-proof brackets

The unit is secured with salt-treated brackets resistant to rust and corrosion, ensuring stability without degradation.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Al Rawdah

  1. 1

Inspect frame and old brackets for rust or corrosion

Before the visit, check the window frame and any old brackets for rust or corrosion, and let us know if you spot obvious damage.

  2. 2

Remove curtains and furniture near the window

Clear space around the window for safe installation, and remove any curtains or furniture that might obstruct the team's work.

  3. 3

Tell us about wind and humidity where your window is

If your window faces direct winds or sits in an especially humid spot, tell us so we can adjust the seal type and installation angle.

FAQ

Questions about Window AC installation

Can you cut a new opening in the wall if there is none?

Yes, if no suitable opening exists we can cut one. At the survey we check the wall type and thickness and look for columns or cables that might be in the way, then agree the best position with you before any cutting begins.

Why does the outward tilt matter on a window unit?

A window unit produces condensate on its indoor side throughout operation. If the unit sits level or tilts inward, water pools in the base and runs down the inside wall. A slight outward tilt sends that water to the back of the unit and out, away from the wall and furniture.

How do you seal the gaps around the frame given Jeddah's climate?

Jeddah combines high heat, humidity and salty sea air, so sealing materials must hold up in those conditions. We use insulating and sealing materials suited to the opening and wall type, and the survey determines the right choice based on the gap size and wall construction.

Does a window unit need its own power point?

A window unit draws a high current at start-up, and sharing a socket with other appliances strains the wiring and trips the breaker. The technician checks at the survey that a suitable socket is close to the unit position, and if one is not there we explain what is needed before installation proceeds.

Does the weight of a window unit affect how it is fixed?

Yes, the unit's weight directly affects how the frame is fixed and what support is needed. A concrete wall requires different treatment from a brick wall, and a wide opening needs more support than a narrow one. The technician decides at the survey what fixing method and materials suit the unit and the wall.

Salt and humidity corrode metal here, is the sealing sufficient?

Yes, we use salt and moisture-resistant seals specifically for coastal areas. These protect the frame and brackets from rapid corrosion.

High humidity all the time, does it affect the AC drainage?

Yes, Al Rawdah's high coastal humidity means more condensate forms. We install with precise outward tilt and a protected drain outlet so condensate flows freely without pooling.

Does salty water leak from the sides of the unit onto the building's outer wall?

That is a real risk in coastal areas. We seal gaps firmly with salt-resistant material and direct drainage so water runs well away from the building's exterior walls.

The window frame is rather old, does it resist salt and moisture?

Older frames may be weakened by prior salt and moisture exposure. We inspect them carefully, and if we find corrosion or weakness, we recommend reinforcement before installation.
