When your window unit needs attention

  1. 1

Weak cooling even on full power

The room stays warm even with the unit running at full. Most often the coil or filter is blocked with the dust and salt Jeddah's air carries; cleaning them brings the cooling back without any parts.

  2. 2

    Water leaking into the room

Dripping inside the room does not always mean a mechanical fault. The unit needs a slight tilt toward the outside so condensate runs away. We check the tilt, the drain tray and the drain holes before anything else.

  3. 3

Loud noise or a fan that will not spin

Grinding or heavy vibration usually points to a fan with broken blades, a worn shaft or a foreign object inside the unit. A fan that does not start while the compressor hums is often a failed run capacitor.

Who it's for

  • Your flat's window unit drips onto the floor

We check the unit tilt, drain tray and drain holes on site and correct the real cause so the dripping does not return.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Describe the fault

WhatsApp us what is happening: noise, drip or weak cooling. A photo of the front of the unit helps us know the model before the visit.

  2. 2

    On-site diagnosis

The technician checks the filter, coil, fan, capacitor and thermostat in order, then tells you the real cause and what the repair needs before he starts.

  3. 3

    Repair or replace call

If the repair is practical we complete it in the same visit. If the unit is old, the chassis is deeply rusted or the compressor fault is complex, we say so plainly and explain your options.

  4. 4

    Run test and handover

After the repair we run the unit, check the cooling, confirm the drain flows and watch the current settle, then leave the room clean.

What sets this district apart

Al Karamah is a multi-storey residential district mixing residential blocks, shops and small stores with wider streets than old downtown but older construction than northern neighbourhoods. Most residents chose window units for cost and easy installation. Intense heat, coastal humidity and dust speed coil, metal and seal wear, and careful repair of the real fault preserves money and efficiency.

Al Karamah is in south Jeddah, a multi-storey residential district mixing housing with commercial activity.

Most window units are on south and west-facing windows exposed to direct sun and intense heat all day.

The AC setup in Al Karamah

  1. 1

Window unit on a south or west-facing flat window

The typical design here places the window unit on the main flat window, which faces the longest heat exposure.

  2. 2

Units spaced close together on the same facade

Some residential blocks have several window units on the same side, raising reflected heat and noise between them.

  3. 3

Electrical runs that may need checking in older buildings

Some buildings here are older, and electrical runs may be weak or inadequately protected.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Al Karamah

  1. 1

Tell us the flat number, floor and which window

Give us the exact flat number, floor and window (bedroom, lounge, kitchen, etc.) so the team goes straight there.

  2. 2

Ensure there is nearby safe parking

Al Karamah's streets are wider but may be congested. Make sure there is safe parking near the entrance for the team's vehicle.

  3. 3

Confirm clear access and minimal obstructions

Make sure corridors and staircases are clear and safe to reach the flat and window without difficulty.

FAQ

Questions about Window AC repair

Can a window unit be repaired in the same visit?

Many faults, a clogged filter, a dirty coil, a failed run capacitor and a wrong tilt, are fixed in a single visit. If the unit needs a part the technician does not carry, we arrange a second visit once it is sourced.

How does Jeddah's salty air affect a window unit?

The damp salty air from the sea speeds up corrosion on the metal chassis, fan blades and coil fins. Units on sea-facing walls or higher floors corrode faster. We check how deep the rust goes and tell you honestly whether the unit is worth repairing or whether the chassis has reached the point where replacement saves more.

The unit runs but the compressor will not start. What causes that?

The most common cause is a failed run capacitor that can no longer give the compressor or fan the starting push it needs. The relay is the second likely cause. The technician tests both with instruments and confirms which is at fault before replacing anything.

Why does my window unit drip water into the room?

A window unit drains condensate out of the back, so if it tilts inwards or the drain holes in its base block, the water comes back into the room. We reset the tilt slightly outwards, clean the pan and drain holes, and check the frame is sealed so no water runs down the sides.

Can a faulty thermostat cause the compressor to cycle on and off rapidly?

Yes. A faulty thermostat can send wrong signals that make the compressor cut in and out abnormally, straining the circuit and reducing cooling. The technician tests the thermostat with instruments and separates it from other causes such as the relay or a supply voltage issue before any part is replaced.

My unit leaks water into the room, is there a fix before replacing it?

Usually, leaking comes from a clogged drain or slight angle misalignment. Cleaning the opening or adjusting the tilt fixes it in most cases.

Do you have safe equipment to reach units on the third or fourth floor?

We use standard safe ladders and safety harnesses for the team. Access is secure and swift, and we coordinate on the best time to avoid congestion.

Heat here is extreme, can a window unit survive summer?

Extreme heat and direct sun speed coil and metal wear. Regular maintenance and cleaning extend the unit's life and preserve performance.

The circuit might not handle extra load, how do we check?

We inspect the circuit and breaker before any work and verify the electrical load is safe. If the circuit is weak we tell you before powering on.
