When your window unit needs attention

  1. 1

Weak cooling even on full power

The room stays warm even with the unit running at full. Most often the coil or filter is blocked with the dust and salt Jeddah's air carries; cleaning them brings the cooling back without any parts.

  2. 2

    Water leaking into the room

Dripping inside the room does not always mean a mechanical fault. The unit needs a slight tilt toward the outside so condensate runs away. We check the tilt, the drain tray and the drain holes before anything else.

  3. 3

Loud noise or a fan that will not spin

Grinding or heavy vibration usually points to a fan with broken blades, a worn shaft or a foreign object inside the unit. A fan that does not start while the compressor hums is often a failed run capacitor.

Who it's for

  • Your flat's window unit drips onto the floor

We check the unit tilt, drain tray and drain holes on site and correct the real cause so the dripping does not return.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Describe the fault

WhatsApp us what is happening: noise, drip or weak cooling. A photo of the front of the unit helps us know the model before the visit.

  2. 2

    On-site diagnosis

The technician checks the filter, coil, fan, capacitor and thermostat in order, then tells you the real cause and what the repair needs before he starts.

  3. 3

    Repair or replace call

If the repair is practical we complete it in the same visit. If the unit is old, the chassis is deeply rusted or the compressor fault is complex, we say so plainly and explain your options.

  4. 4

    Run test and handover

After the repair we run the unit, check the cooling, confirm the drain flows and watch the current settle, then leave the room clean.

What sets this district apart

Al Kawthar is a dense mixed-use residential and commercial district in east Jeddah, with flats, villas and shops of varying sizes and some open space between buildings. Being in east Jeddah means wind and desert dust exposure, and window units run high loads against both heat and dust. Careful inspection is needed to tell small repairable faults from deep ones that need replacement.

Al Kawthar lies in east Jeddah, a dense mixed residential-commercial area exposed to winds and desert dust.

Most window units here run moderate to heavy loads because of sustained heat and dust in the east.

The AC setup in Al Kawthar

  1. 1

Window units in dense mixed-use buildings

Al Kawthar has a mix of villas, flats and shops, and most units are set in standard frames with varying wind exposure.

  2. 2

Coils exposed to both dust and wind

The eastern location means simultaneous dust and wind exposure, which speeds coil clogging and motor strain.

  3. 3

    Drains prone to frequent blockage

External drains clog frequently from dust and debris buildup because of sustained winds.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Al Kawthar

  1. 1

Confirm safe access to the window

Let us know if the window is high or hard to reach so we can bring proper safety equipment.

Turn off the unit completely before arrival and remove anything blocking access to the window from inside and out.

FAQ

Questions about Window AC repair

Can a window unit be repaired in the same visit?

Many faults, a clogged filter, a dirty coil, a failed run capacitor and a wrong tilt, are fixed in a single visit. If the unit needs a part the technician does not carry, we arrange a second visit once it is sourced.

How does Jeddah's salty air affect a window unit?

The damp salty air from the sea speeds up corrosion on the metal chassis, fan blades and coil fins. Units on sea-facing walls or higher floors corrode faster. We check how deep the rust goes and tell you honestly whether the unit is worth repairing or whether the chassis has reached the point where replacement saves more.

The unit runs but the compressor will not start. What causes that?

The most common cause is a failed run capacitor that can no longer give the compressor or fan the starting push it needs. The relay is the second likely cause. The technician tests both with instruments and confirms which is at fault before replacing anything.

Why does my window unit drip water into the room?

A window unit drains condensate out of the back, so if it tilts inwards or the drain holes in its base block, the water comes back into the room. We reset the tilt slightly outwards, clean the pan and drain holes, and check the frame is sealed so no water runs down the sides.

Can a faulty thermostat cause the compressor to cycle on and off rapidly?

Yes. A faulty thermostat can send wrong signals that make the compressor cut in and out abnormally, straining the circuit and reducing cooling. The technician tests the thermostat with instruments and separates it from other causes such as the relay or a supply voltage issue before any part is replaced.

My unit leaks and clogs fast. What is the problem?

Desert dust and pollution clog the external drain fast, or the coil may be dirty. We inspect the drain, coil and angle and clean them.

Do strong east winds damage my window unit?

Yes, east winds increase pressure on the coil and blower wheel and may cause vibration. We inspect the mount and wheel and fix any issues.

How often should I clean my unit in Al Kawthar because of dust?

We recommend cleaning the coil monthly or every two months in summer because desert dust is heavy here. Regular cleaning keeps performance strong.

My old unit needs work. Is repair or replacement better?

We inspect all parts. If repair is cheaper than replacement and extends life, we recommend it. But if there are multiple faults, replacement is better.
