When your display fridge needs attention

  1. 1

    Glass fogs or sweats

In Jeddah's humid air and air-conditioned shops, moisture collects on the door glass or thick frost builds up. The cause is usually the door frame heater resistance or the door seal; the site decides which.

  2. 2

    Stock spoiling or uneven temperatures

If upper shelves are warmer than lower ones, or open multideck zones read outside the required range, a fan fault or blocked cold-air path is likely. We measure shelf temperatures along the cabinet and find where the fault lies.

  3. 3

Hot condenser in a poorly cooled shop

A display cabinet throws a lot of heat into the shop floor. When the shop's cooling is insufficient, the condenser air temperature rises, the compressor works harder and the cabinet loses its chill. The fix starts with assessing the cabinet's location and the ventilation around it.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Send a photo

WhatsApp a photo of the cabinet, your district and a brief description of the problem; the team can prepare the right tools before the visit.

  2. 2

    Site survey and measurement

The technician measures shelf temperatures, inspects the condenser, fans, air curtain and door seals, and reviews the ventilation around the cabinet before touching anything.

  3. 3

    Diagnosis and explanation

After measuring we tell you exactly what is wrong and what needs to be done, and you approve the work before the technician starts.

  4. 4

    Repair and verify

We fix the fault, then re-measure shelf temperatures and verify the air curtain, lighting and fans before leaving the shop.

What sets this district apart

Al Hindawiyah's buildings are old and closely packed around traditional markets, with small, cramped shops often having flats above, and very narrow streets that cannot fit large vehicles. Shops here operate all day under high pressure, and poor natural ventilation between buildings increases humidity and dust around the fridges. Display fridges in these locations need frequent servicing because dust and moisture accumulate quickly, and advance visits are essential to coordinate entry and work in tight quarters.

Al Hindawiyah sits in Jeddah's historic downtown, an older district of closely packed residential and commercial buildings around traditional markets.

Most older shops in Al Hindawiyah have small independent display fridges with basic cooling systems, with the condenser and motor often fixed on the outer wall or in very tight spaces.

The AC setup in Al Hindawiyah

  1. 1

Small independent display fridges in cramped shops

Most Al Hindawiyah shops cannot accommodate large fridges, so they use small independent units with simple integrated cooling systems.

  2. 2

Unit condenser fixed to the outer wall

The condenser and motor are often fixed to the shop's outer wall because interior space is extremely tight.

  3. 3

Fridges with no separate engine room

All units here use direct cooling with no separate engine room, and all components are integrated within the fridge itself or on the outer wall.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Al Hindawiyah

  1. 1

Confirm a safe parking spot nearby

Al Hindawiyah's streets are very narrow, tell us the nearest safe spot the team can park before the visit.

  2. 2

Ensure access to the outdoor condenser

Check that the outer wall or space where the condenser is located can be safely accessed by the team before the visit day.

  3. 3

Coordinate timing with the shop owner

Tell the shop owner about the visit time in advance and choose a quiet hour away from peak times to avoid clashing with customers.

FAQ

Questions about Display fridges & chillers

Why does thick frost build up on open multideck shelves?

An open multideck relies on a cold air curtain to keep shop air out. If the fan weakens or nearby AC airflow deflects the curtain, shop humidity enters the cabinet and frost builds. We check fan speed, air curtain direction and temperature at several points along the cabinet to find exactly where the fault is.

Does shop temperature affect how the display fridge performs?

Yes, and in Jeddah this is more noticeable in summer when the heat load rises. The condenser rejects heat into shop air; when that air is warm, the compressor works harder and shelf temperatures rise. We assess the cabinet's position and its distance from AC supply diffusers as part of the survey.

The cabinet lighting is dim or flickering; is that something you handle?

Yes, cabinet lighting is part of the service. Internal lighting matters to how your product looks, and a wiring fault there can affect other circuits. We check the wiring and driver and replace the faulty component as part of the job.

My display fridge is an unfamiliar brand; can you still work on it?

Display cabinet faults are mostly common across brands: refrigeration circuit, fan, air curtain, door seal, frame heater. We diagnose by measurement, not by brand. If a replacement part is needed we tell you before going further and you decide.

Can a new display cabinet be installed in an existing shop?

Yes, but the site decides what is needed. We assess the electrical supply, drain route and cabinet position relative to AC diffusers before installation; where the cabinet sits affects the air curtain and the shop's overall cooling load. The survey sets out exactly what is required before any work begins.

My shop is old and in an old building, can you service my display fridge?

Yes, we have experience with old buildings and cramped shops in Al Hindawiyah, and we work in tight spaces without disrupting shop hours.

The streets are very narrow, how do you get equipment to my shop?

Our team carries tools by hand from the nearest parking point, and we agree with you in advance on the best route to reach your shop.

Old town humidity seems to increase mould in my fridge, does that affect servicing?

Yes, coastal humidity and high moisture in old districts speed up dust and mould growth on the condenser and fans, so we clean and blow out the condenser carefully on every visit.

The wiring in my old building is aging, does that affect the fridge operation?

We check the electrical connection and safety before and after the visit, and if we spot an issue with the circuit we'll advise you to call a specialist electrician.
