When your display fridge needs attention

  1. 1

    Glass fogs or sweats

In Jeddah's humid air and air-conditioned shops, moisture collects on the door glass or thick frost builds up. The cause is usually the door frame heater resistance or the door seal; the site decides which.

  2. 2

    Stock spoiling or uneven temperatures

If upper shelves are warmer than lower ones, or open multideck zones read outside the required range, a fan fault or blocked cold-air path is likely. We measure shelf temperatures along the cabinet and find where the fault lies.

  3. 3

Hot condenser in a poorly cooled shop

A display cabinet throws a lot of heat into the shop floor. When the shop's cooling is insufficient, the condenser air temperature rises, the compressor works harder and the cabinet loses its chill. The fix starts with assessing the cabinet's location and the ventilation around it.

Who it's for

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Send a photo

WhatsApp a photo of the cabinet, your district and a brief description of the problem; the team can prepare the right tools before the visit.

  2. 2

    Site survey and measurement

The technician measures shelf temperatures, inspects the condenser, fans, air curtain and door seals, and reviews the ventilation around the cabinet before touching anything.

  3. 3

    Diagnosis and explanation

After measuring we tell you exactly what is wrong and what needs to be done, and you approve the work before the technician starts.

  4. 4

    Repair and verify

We fix the fault, then re-measure shelf temperatures and verify the air curtain, lighting and fans before leaving the shop.

What sets this district apart

North Corniche businesses serve restaurants, hotels and modern cafés, and their display fridges face relentless salt air and very high humidity because of the sea proximity. Coastal humidity speeds up condenser corrosion and causes moisture to build up on the glass, which dims the product view and raises the cooling load. Regular maintenance is more critical here than inland districts to keep units holding the required temperatures despite the high environmental pressure.

The North Corniche in Jeddah is a modern hotel and commercial belt along the seafront, with high density of shops, restaurants and hotels.

Most display chillers on the Corniche are tall vertical or high-capacity horizontal units because shops and restaurants need large product display frontage.

The AC setup in North Corniche

  1. 1

Vertical display units with front glass

Most shops and restaurants on the Corniche use display units with a wide base and full front glass, requiring regular maintenance of the glass and air curtain.

  2. 2

    High-capacity horizontal display units

Horizontal units are common in larger restaurants and hotels and need regular inspection of the condenser and temperature balance across all shelves.

  3. 3

    Units with external condensing units

Many modern display units on the Corniche connect to external condensing units placed on roofs or walls, needing protection from salt and humidity.

Before the visit

Before our visit in North Corniche

  1. 1

Confirm the shop will be closed or choose an off-hours service time

Display units need the cooling stopped briefly during service, so arrange the appointment outside working hours or during slower sales periods.

  2. 2

Locate the external condenser unit if present

If the chiller connects to an external condenser, tell us where it sits on the roof or wall so the team can inspect it for salt damage and corrosion.

  3. 3

Provide details of the last service visit

Tell us when the last service was and any issues you have noticed, such as glass fogging or temperature variations, so we focus on the areas that need attention.

FAQ

Questions about Display fridges & chillers

Why does thick frost build up on open multideck shelves?

An open multideck relies on a cold air curtain to keep shop air out. If the fan weakens or nearby AC airflow deflects the curtain, shop humidity enters the cabinet and frost builds. We check fan speed, air curtain direction and temperature at several points along the cabinet to find exactly where the fault is.

Does shop temperature affect how the display fridge performs?

Yes, and in Jeddah this is more noticeable in summer when the heat load rises. The condenser rejects heat into shop air; when that air is warm, the compressor works harder and shelf temperatures rise. We assess the cabinet's position and its distance from AC supply diffusers as part of the survey.

The cabinet lighting is dim or flickering; is that something you handle?

Yes, cabinet lighting is part of the service. Internal lighting matters to how your product looks, and a wiring fault there can affect other circuits. We check the wiring and driver and replace the faulty component as part of the job.

My display fridge is an unfamiliar brand; can you still work on it?

Display cabinet faults are mostly common across brands: refrigeration circuit, fan, air curtain, door seal, frame heater. We diagnose by measurement, not by brand. If a replacement part is needed we tell you before going further and you decide.

Can a new display cabinet be installed in an existing shop?

Yes, but the site decides what is needed. We assess the electrical supply, drain route and cabinet position relative to AC diffusers before installation; where the cabinet sits affects the air curtain and the shop's overall cooling load. The survey sets out exactly what is required before any work begins.

Does the salt air damage the display chiller?

Yes, salt accelerates corrosion of the condenser and metal parts, which is why we inspect and clean the condenser more frequently on the Corniche.

High humidity causes fogging on the glass, how do we fix that?

Fogging results from temperature imbalance between the glass and the humid air outside the chiller. We check the air curtain and frame temperature to ensure the system is working efficiently.

How often should the display chiller be serviced on the Corniche?

We recommend service every month or two due to the high environmental stress from salt and humidity.

Does summer heat affect the chiller's performance?

Yes, intense heat increases cooling demand, and if the condenser is dirty or fans weak, the unit will not hold temperatures. We ensure the condenser and cooling fans are clean and efficient in summer.
