Dedicated duct workshop

Duct fabrication in Al Shara'i

In Al Shara'i in the north-east, residential, commercial and office projects need central AC systems with calculated and precisely fabricated ductwork. Alrabih fabricates duct in the workshop from galvanized or aluminium sheet, so each section arrives ready for immediate installation with no air loss.

Who needs workshop-fabricated duct?

  1. 1

    A contractor with project-specific sizes

Your project has non-standard sizes or volumes too large for site cutting. We fabricate rectangular and round sections from your drawings at exact dimensions, labelled and ready to hang when they reach the site.

  2. 2

Fittings too awkward to cut on site

Elbows, transitions, offsets and takeoffs come out distorted when cut by hand on site, leaking air and creating noise in the line. We make them in the workshop at the right dimensions with tight seams.

  3. 3

Extending or renovating an existing duct network

You need new branches, a damaged section replaced or a fitting that matches an old duct size. We measure the existing network on site and fabricate the pieces to match what is already there.

Who it's for

  • Building a facility that needs non-standard duct sizes

We read your project drawings and fabricate all sections and fittings at exact dimensions from G90 or aluminium sheet, labelled and ready to hang the moment they reach your site.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Take measurements

A technician visits the site or you send us the drawings; we list every duct section needed, its size and the correct sheet thickness for that section.

  2. 2

    Fabricate sections and fittings

We cut, form and lock the sheet in the workshop, including all elbows, transitions, offsets and takeoffs, and each section comes out at its exact dimension.

  3. 3

    Label and prepare for delivery

We number every section and fitting against the assembly plan so the installation crew knows exactly where each piece goes, with no guessing on site.

  4. 4

    Deliver to site

We deliver the duct to your Jeddah site protected and ready to hang. If you need an installation crew, we can arrange that as a separate step.

Some of our work

Ductwork, rooftop units and diffusers, from work we've completed in Jeddah.

  • Galvanized rectangular duct trunk with branch takeoffs and round diffusers, hung from a black ceiling, a Carrier unit visible behind — interior finishing stage.
  • Round diffusers and a spiral duct trunk in a tiled stairwell service shaft.
  • Rooftop ductwork and an exhaust fan, with Jeddah buildings in the background.
  • Rooftop packaged AC units with rectangular duct transitions, city buildings behind.
  • Insulated rooftop duct run beside a packaged unit, a warehouse roof in the background.
  • A grid of round diffusers in an open-plan office ceiling, mid-construction.
  • An insulated rooftop duct elbow, against a mountainous backdrop.
  • Large insulated ductwork running along a factory ceiling, with workers visible below.
  • A yellow round diffuser mid-installation, with spiral duct and a suspended ceiling grid.
  • Duct insulation wrap in progress on a construction site, bare duct still exposed.
  • A black-painted duct trunk with round diffusers and track lighting, in a finished retail interior.

What sets this district apart

Al Shara'i is a rapidly growing residential area with mid-rise apartment blocks, commercial centres and office complexes, many built in the past decade to modern design standards. These projects often need branched ductwork connecting different units and multiple floors, requiring precise understanding of the plan and available spaces. Pre-fabricating duct in the workshop accelerates on-site installation and reduces errors and waste.

Al Shara'i sits in north-east Jeddah, a zone of modern residential and commercial growth with mid-rise buildings.

Most projects here use rectangular duct in standard dimensions with regular takeoffs for repeated units.

The AC setup in Al Shara'i

  1. 1

Standard rectangular duct for repeated units

Most residential buildings here need uniform-dimension duct repeated for each housing unit.

  2. 2

Regular takeoffs for even air distribution

Evenly calculated takeoffs ensure uniform air distribution across rooms and zones.

  3. 3

    Smooth transitions between different diameters

Fabricating transitions and adapters in the workshop ensures no pressure loss and optimal performance.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Al Shara'i

  1. 1

    Send the complete engineering plan

Send us the building plan, outdoor unit locations and available spaces for duct runs before we start.

  2. 2

Mark duct entry and exit points

Confirm duct entry points from the outdoor unit and exit points to rooms and zones.

  3. 3

Ensure temporary storage space for fabricated duct

Prepare a safe area on site to store fabricated duct sections before installation.

FAQ

Questions about Duct fabrication

Can you fabricate from drawings without visiting the site?

Yes, when the drawings are clear and carry the actual as-built dimensions. If a dimension is uncertain or a field change has been made, we prefer a site visit to avoid a fabricated piece that does not fit. We discuss the better approach with you before starting work.

What is the difference between galvanized and aluminium sheet for duct?

G90 galvanized sheet is the standard choice for interior duct: strong and suited to a range of pressures. Aluminium is lighter and handles Jeddah's coastal humidity and salt air better, making it right for some exposed applications or where structural load is a limiting factor. The correct choice depends on the site.

Can you make elbows and transitions to match an existing duct network?

Yes. We measure the existing network on site to match sizes precisely, whether you need a new branch added, a damaged fitting replaced or an extension tied into the original ductwork. The right approach is confirmed after the site visit.

How do you choose sheet thickness for each section?

Thickness follows section size: a large duct needs heavier sheet to hold its shape under pressure, a small one can use lighter material. We apply the SMACNA requirements to each section in the project individually, not a single thickness across the whole job.

Does Jeddah's humidity and salt air affect which sheet material to use?

Yes, particularly for sections exposed to outdoor air or installed near fresh-air intakes. G90 galvanized sheet performs well inside the building, but aluminium is the better choice where duct is in continuous contact with Jeddah's humid, salt-laden air. The site survey determines the right material for each section.

Do you fabricate duct for multi-unit residential buildings?

Yes, we fabricate ductwork for multi-unit blocks, calculating each unit separately with uniform, regular takeoffs.

Projects here need fast installation, does workshop fabrication save time?

Absolutely, the duct arrives ready for immediate installation, greatly reducing on-site assembly and cutting time.

Do you work from CAD plans or contractor drawings?

Yes, we accept CAD plans and contractor hand sketches, converting dimensions into precisely cut duct sections.

Al Shara'i is close to Jeddah's coast, does humidity affect the metal duct?

Galvanized sheet resists coastal humidity, and aluminium is also corrosion-resistant in damp environments.
