Dedicated duct workshop

Duct fabrication in Taiba

In Taiba, north-east Jeddah, new residential buildings and mid-rise blocks need balanced central duct networks with tight tolerances. Alrabih fabricates complete ductwork in the workshop to site specifications, so it arrives ready to distribute air evenly with no leakage.

Who needs workshop-fabricated duct?

  1. 1

    A contractor with project-specific sizes

Your project has non-standard sizes or volumes too large for site cutting. We fabricate rectangular and round sections from your drawings at exact dimensions, labelled and ready to hang when they reach the site.

  2. 2

Fittings too awkward to cut on site

Elbows, transitions, offsets and takeoffs come out distorted when cut by hand on site, leaking air and creating noise in the line. We make them in the workshop at the right dimensions with tight seams.

  3. 3

Extending or renovating an existing duct network

You need new branches, a damaged section replaced or a fitting that matches an old duct size. We measure the existing network on site and fabricate the pieces to match what is already there.

Who it's for

  • Building a facility that needs non-standard duct sizes

We read your project drawings and fabricate all sections and fittings at exact dimensions from G90 or aluminium sheet, labelled and ready to hang the moment they reach your site.

  • Renovating home AC and need fittings to match old duct

We measure the existing ductwork in your home and fabricate the branches, transitions and elbows needed to match the original duct without replacing the whole network.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Take measurements

A technician visits the site or you send us the drawings; we list every duct section needed, its size and the correct sheet thickness for that section.

  2. 2

    Fabricate sections and fittings

We cut, form and lock the sheet in the workshop, including all elbows, transitions, offsets and takeoffs, and each section comes out at its exact dimension.

  3. 3

    Label and prepare for delivery

We number every section and fitting against the assembly plan so the installation crew knows exactly where each piece goes, with no guessing on site.

  4. 4

    Deliver to site

We deliver the duct to your Jeddah site protected and ready to hang. If you need an installation crew, we can arrange that as a separate step.

Some of our work

Ductwork, rooftop units and diffusers, from work we've completed in Jeddah.

  • Galvanized rectangular duct trunk with branch takeoffs and round diffusers, hung from a black ceiling, a Carrier unit visible behind — interior finishing stage.
  • Round diffusers and a spiral duct trunk in a tiled stairwell service shaft.
  • Rooftop ductwork and an exhaust fan, with Jeddah buildings in the background.
  • Rooftop packaged AC units with rectangular duct transitions, city buildings behind.
  • Insulated rooftop duct run beside a packaged unit, a warehouse roof in the background.
  • A grid of round diffusers in an open-plan office ceiling, mid-construction.
  • An insulated rooftop duct elbow, against a mountainous backdrop.
  • Large insulated ductwork running along a factory ceiling, with workers visible below.
  • A yellow round diffuser mid-installation, with spiral duct and a suspended ceiling grid.
  • Duct insulation wrap in progress on a construction site, bare duct still exposed.
  • A black-painted duct trunk with round diffusers and track lighting, in a finished retail interior.
  • An indoor AHU unit connected to round ductwork in a mechanical plant room, exposed concrete ceiling.

What sets this district apart

Taiba is an area of rapid urban growth with standardised modern apartment blocks and regular layouts, allowing uniform central AC systems. Pre-fabricated ductwork eliminates cutting errors on site and speeds installation; the tight construction schedules here demand precision measurement and rapid delivery.

Taiba, north-east Jeddah, is a new growth zone with standardised apartment towers and regular urban planning.

Central AC in the blocks here typically needs uniform-section ductwork with balanced branches across the identical floors.

The AC setup in Taiba

  1. 1

    Uniform-section duct with balanced branches

The identical blocks here need uniform-section ductwork that divides equally across floors, simplifying both fabrication and installation.

  2. 2

    Rectangular duct with regular bends

The horizontal and vertical paths in the blocks are regular, so we fabricate ductwork with standard bends and equal-diameter branches.

  3. 3

    Tight joints with specialized sealant

We seal all duct joints with a specialized compound to ensure no air leakage and maintain system efficiency.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Taiba

  1. 1

    Get the full building plan

Request the typical floor plan and top floor from the contractor or management so we calculate required duct lengths and branches.

  2. 2

Confirm the plant room and outdoor unit location

Tell us where the plant room is (usually on the roof) and where the outdoor unit will go so we start calculating main trunk routes.

  3. 3

Check passage heights and wall cavity dimensions

Measure the height of horizontal passages and the distance between walls and suspended ceilings, and tell us of any structural constraints affecting duct routing.

FAQ

Questions about Duct fabrication

Can you fabricate from drawings without visiting the site?

Yes, when the drawings are clear and carry the actual as-built dimensions. If a dimension is uncertain or a field change has been made, we prefer a site visit to avoid a fabricated piece that does not fit. We discuss the better approach with you before starting work.

What is the difference between galvanized and aluminium sheet for duct?

G90 galvanized sheet is the standard choice for interior duct: strong and suited to a range of pressures. Aluminium is lighter and handles Jeddah's coastal humidity and salt air better, making it right for some exposed applications or where structural load is a limiting factor. The correct choice depends on the site.

Can you make elbows and transitions to match an existing duct network?

Yes. We measure the existing network on site to match sizes precisely, whether you need a new branch added, a damaged fitting replaced or an extension tied into the original ductwork. The right approach is confirmed after the site visit.

How do you choose sheet thickness for each section?

Thickness follows section size: a large duct needs heavier sheet to hold its shape under pressure, a small one can use lighter material. We apply the SMACNA requirements to each section in the project individually, not a single thickness across the whole job.

Does Jeddah's humidity and salt air affect which sheet material to use?

Yes, particularly for sections exposed to outdoor air or installed near fresh-air intakes. G90 galvanized sheet performs well inside the building, but aluminium is the better choice where duct is in continuous contact with Jeddah's humid, salt-laden air. The site survey determines the right material for each section.

Building here is fast-paced with tight schedules, does fabricated duct save time?

Yes, we make the complete duct in the workshop before installation, so the team finishes on site much faster than hand-cutting and finishing would take.

The buildings have narrow horizontal passages, can the duct be installed?

The fabricated duct comes in sizes calculated to fit the available space. We take precise measurements of passages and cavities and produce duct that slides in easily.

Does the area's humidity affect metal ductwork?

We make ductwork from corrosion-resistant metals (G90 galvanised or aluminium) that withstand coastal humidity, and tight installation prevents moisture buildup inside.

Electrical wiring and pipes are mixed in the passages, does this affect duct placement?

We account for wiring and pipes when designing the duct route and calculate the available space to avoid friction or pressure on other services.
