When your commercial fridge needs attention

  1. 1

    Temperature creeping up slowly

The fridge runs but no longer reaches its old temperature. In Jeddah's hot kitchens, grease builds on the condenser quickly, robbing it of the ability to shed heat and straining the compressor. We check the blockage on site and decide what is needed.

  2. 2

    Condenser fan stopped or slowed

The condenser fan draws air across the condensing coil. When it stops or slows, heat rises fast and the compressor cuts out on its thermal protector. We test the motor and the run capacitor and replace what has failed as part of the repair.

  3. 3

    Door gasket not sealing properly

A cracked or burned gasket lets warm, humid kitchen air in constantly. The result is a compressor that never rests, condensation forming inside the cabinet and an unstable temperature. We measure the existing gasket and replace it with the right size for that door.

How we work

  1. 1

    Describe the fault

WhatsApp us the make, model and the fault you see, plus your district, so the technician arrives with the right tools and likely parts.

  2. 2

    On-site diagnosis

We check the condenser, fan, gaskets and refrigerant pressure on site and identify the real cause before starting any repair.

  3. 3

    Repair and clean

We clean the condenser of grease and dust, replace the faulty part and top up refrigerant if needed, all while keeping disruption to your work as short as possible.

  4. 4

    Temperature check and handover

After the repair we let the fridge run and measure the cabinet temperature until it reaches the correct range, then hand the unit back to you.

What sets this district apart

Al Wadi is a residential and commercial district south of Jeddah with mid-range and family restaurants, grocers and cafés side by side, and flats above the shops. Shops here open directly onto the street, so commercial fridges face constant warm, humid air flowing in during working hours. This stress speeds up door and gasket wear and increases compressor load, making coil cleaning from dust and grease the most critical part of routine maintenance.

Al Wadi lies in southern Jeddah, a mixed area of commercial shops and residential buildings with open frontages to the street and intense heat.

Most small restaurants and shops in Al Wadi use single or dual upright fridges of 400 to 600 litre capacity, placed in open kitchens facing the front door.

The AC setup in Al Wadi

  1. 1

    One or two upright fridges

Small restaurants and shops in Al Wadi rely on one or two upright fridges to chill drinks, vegetables, cheese and yoghurt through the day.

  2. 2

Outdoor condenser unit on a balcony or exterior wall

The outdoor unit is usually mounted on a small balcony or exterior wall facing the street, exposed to direct sun, dust and humidity.

  3. 3

Single front door and clogged coils

The single front door opens repeatedly in a cramped kitchen, and grease and dust from cooking pile up on the coils fast.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Al Wadi

  1. 1

Tell us the quietest hours for your restaurant

Al Wadi restaurants are busy at lunch and dinner, so tell us the quietest time when we can inspect the fridge without disrupting service.

  2. 2

Ensure the team can reach the outdoor unit

The outdoor unit is on a balcony or exterior wall, ensure the team can safely access it from the street or balcony without obstacles.

  3. 3

    Clarify the nearest parking spot

Al Wadi's main street has limited parking, tell us the nearest safe spot the team can use before the visit day.

FAQ

Questions about Commercial fridge service

My kitchen fridge runs all the time but does not cool enough. What is wrong?

In most cases the condenser is blocked with grease and dust, which is common in Jeddah kitchens where steam and smoke build up fast. A worn door gasket letting warm kitchen air in constantly is another likely cause. We check both on site and tell you which is the problem, or whether both need attention.

Do you service prep counters and under-counter fridges as well?

Yes, our service covers upright fridges, prep counters, under-counter units and bottle coolers in restaurants, bakeries and groceries. We ask for the model in advance so the technician arrives with the right tools and parts for that unit's size and type.

How does Jeddah's humidity affect kitchen fridges?

Warm, humid air enters through any worn gasket and condenses inside the cabinet, raising the load on the compressor and speeding gasket wear. Salt in Jeddah's sea air also corrodes condenser parts over time. That is why we check gaskets and the condenser condition carefully at every service visit.

Can the fridge be repaired without shutting the kitchen down?

For most repairs, yes. Cleaning the condenser and replacing a fan motor or gasket takes the fridge out of service for a short time only. If the repair needs the refrigerant recovered and recharged we tell you the expected time beforehand so you can prepare your stock.

Why does water keep collecting inside my kitchen fridge?

The most common cause is a worn door gasket letting humid kitchen air in, which then condenses on the walls and shelves. A blocked defrost drain at the base of the unit is another frequent cause. We check the gaskets and the drain line on site and identify the problem before starting any repair.

My restaurant is open all day and the door is always open, does this harm the fridge?

Yes, constant warm humid air increases the load on the compressor and coils. We check it monthly to ensure the gasket is not leaking and the condenser stays clean.

The fridge door opens and closes thousands of times a month, how long does the gasket last?

Under heavy use the gasket wears in 8 to 12 months, and in Al Wadi's high heat it goes slightly faster. We replace it before leaking to maintain cold.

The fridge sits in a small kitchen with poor airflow, how do we keep it running cool?

We check the condenser ventilation and space around the unit; we might need to reposition it slightly or improve condenser airflow, and clean the coils every two months minimum.

I hear there are different types of compressor, what's common in Al Wadi?

Most small and medium commercial fridges here use rotary or reciprocating compressors, both needing regular oil levels and periodic checks under high load.
