When you need a retail HVAC specialist
- 1
A new mall or shopping centre
A poor design from the start means cold zones next to stifling ones and endless tenant complaints. We study the heat load of each zone separately and choose the right unit type before the ceiling is built.
- 2
An existing shop with uneven cooling
The back of the shop is cold while the front near the door stays hot at peak hours. The cause is usually the air outlet layout or the unit size; a site survey identifies which and fixes the problem without replacing the whole system.
- 3
Condensate dripping on shelves or display
A single drip on stock or a glass display front damages the product and the shop's image. The cause is usually weak insulation, a blocked condensate line or an unlevel unit, all of which can be diagnosed and fixed in one visit.
Who it's for
Opening a new shop inside a mall
We design an independent unit for your space and install ductwork and condensate lines before finishing work so your opening is not delayed.

How we work
How we work
- 1
Site survey and loads
We visit the site and map every heat source: entrances, lighting, expected crowd density and facade orientation, then size the units correctly for each section.
- 2
Design and materials
We design the duct network in our own workshop from G90 galvanised sheet to dimensions that give even air distribution, and select units from brands we distribute such as Carrier, YORK and Gree.
- 3
Installation coordinated on site
We coordinate installation with the project programme so ductwork does not delay finishing trades, and run Mueller copper in runs of up to 30 metres without welded joints to reduce potential leak points.
- 4
Start-up and maintenance contract
We start up the system and check air distribution in every section, then set a preventive and corrective maintenance schedule timed so work never overlaps with the shop's trading hours.

What sets this district apart
Most retail buildings in Al Salmiyah Al Sharqiyah are relatively modern, with open floor plans and large glazed frontages that catch the sun all day. That design means the cooling system must deliver high, steady capacity, especially during peak hours when doors stay open. Regular maintenance is vital to prevent water leaks onto stock and floors, and it must happen outside trading hours to keep customers and shop staff undisturbed.
Al Salmiyah Al Sharqiyah is in south Jeddah, home to large malls and modern retail chains with spacious car parks.
Most large malls and retail spaces here run central HVAC systems with powerful outdoor units, some rooftop-mounted and others in dedicated plant rooms.
The AC setup in Al Salmiyah Al Sharqiyah
- 1

- 2
Condenser units on roofs or in dedicated plant rooms
Large condenser units sit on safe roofs or in dedicated plant rooms, away from customers and shop entrances.
- 3
Distributed temperature monitoring system
Sensors throughout the mall monitor temperature across different zones, ensuring cool air reaches every corner evenly.

FAQ
Questions about Mall & retail HVAC
How do you handle doors that open onto the street all day?
An open door pushes in hot humid air and spikes the heat load suddenly. We include that load in the design and direct a supply outlet above the entrance to form an air barrier that reduces mixing. The survey confirms which arrangement suits each specific doorway.
Do you install separate units for each mall tenant?
Yes. A separate unit per tenant means each shop controls its own cooling and a fault in one unit does not affect the neighbour. It also makes consumption readings straightforward and makes maintenance responsibility clear for each party.
Why do you prefer rooftop packaged units for malls?
A rooftop packaged unit keeps the condenser and evaporator in one casing above the roof, freeing every inch of shop floor from outdoor units and shortening the duct run. Maintenance happens on the roof without entering the shop, which fits scheduling work outside trading hours.
How do you handle Jeddah's heat and its effect on rooftop units?
Rooftop units in Jeddah work in hot, salty and dusty air that strains the condenser and speeds fin corrosion. We specify units with corrosion-resistant coatings and include coil cleaning and compressor and condenser checks in the preventive schedule of every maintenance contract.
Does air distribution design differ between a small shop and a large mall?
The site survey decides. A small shop may need only a concealed unit with directional grilles, while a mall requires a duct network with dampers zoned by area. In both cases the positions of lighting, visitor traffic and entry doors are recorded before supply outlets are placed.
How do you handle peak-hour heat and crowding in a busy mall?
We install a system that balances the shifting cooling load throughout the day, so it can handle open doors and heavy foot traffic without breaking down. Regular maintenance keeps the performance steady.
Stock and floors are at risk from moisture, is the drainage truly safe?
We ensure drainage pipes are properly pitched to flow to the main sewer without pooling anywhere. Regular cleaning prevents leaks onto the shop floor.
When can you visit so the shops stay open?
We agree with the mall management on service hours beforehand, typically early morning or after closing, so trading is not affected.
Outdoor units on roofs need heavy-duty electrical runs, is that available?
We check the building's existing electrical capacity, and if it is not enough we coordinate with an electrician to upgrade it before installation.
