When you need a retail HVAC specialist
- 1
A new mall or shopping centre
A poor design from the start means cold zones next to stifling ones and endless tenant complaints. We study the heat load of each zone separately and choose the right unit type before the ceiling is built.
- 2
An existing shop with uneven cooling
The back of the shop is cold while the front near the door stays hot at peak hours. The cause is usually the air outlet layout or the unit size; a site survey identifies which and fixes the problem without replacing the whole system.
- 3
Condensate dripping on shelves or display
A single drip on stock or a glass display front damages the product and the shop's image. The cause is usually weak insulation, a blocked condensate line or an unlevel unit, all of which can be diagnosed and fixed in one visit.
Who it's for
Opening a new shop inside a mall
We design an independent unit for your space and install ductwork and condensate lines before finishing work so your opening is not delayed.
Ask on WhatsAppManaging an existing commercial complex
We review the existing system and set a preventive and corrective maintenance contract scheduled outside trading hours so tenants are not affected.

How we work
How we work
- 1
Site survey and loads
We visit the site and map every heat source: entrances, lighting, expected crowd density and facade orientation, then size the units correctly for each section.
- 2
Design and materials
We design the duct network in our own workshop from G90 galvanised sheet to dimensions that give even air distribution, and select units from brands we distribute such as Carrier, YORK and Gree.
- 3
Installation coordinated on site
We coordinate installation with the project programme so ductwork does not delay finishing trades, and run Mueller copper in runs of up to 30 metres without welded joints to reduce potential leak points.
- 4
Start-up and maintenance contract
We start up the system and check air distribution in every section, then set a preventive and corrective maintenance schedule timed so work never overlaps with the shop's trading hours.
Designed for the space or just fitted?
| Alrabih | The usual way | |
|---|---|---|
| Air distribution | Load study per zone | One unit for the whole space |
| Ductwork | G90 sheet, sized for the job | Off-the-shelf wrong size |
| Condensate | Dedicated line away from stock | Risk of drips on shelves |
| Maintenance | Scheduled outside shop hours | Surprise outage during trade |
| Copper purity | Mueller copper, 99% pure, no welds | Unspecified pipe source |

What sets this district apart
Al Wafa is a densely built east Jeddah neighbourhood, tall residential blocks with small and medium shops and supermarkets on ground and first floors. Commercial spaces are tight and ceilings lower than in new districts, and roof access needs coordination with building management. HVAC design here must be clever, using available space efficiently, with compact outdoor units that fit on narrow facades or small balconies.
Al Wafa sits in east Jeddah, a densely built residential district with small shops and limited open spaces.
Shops and small supermarkets here typically run a compact split or window unit because floor space is tight and budgets are constrained.
The AC setup in Al Wafa
- 1
Single compact split for tight retail space
Small shops and tight supermarkets in Al Wafa use one compact split that conserves floor space and suits the budget.
- 2
Window units in some older shops
Some older shops retain window units instead of splits for structural or historical reasons.
- 3
Compact outdoor unit on balcony or facade
Outdoor units mount on narrow balconies or safe facades because shared roof space is limited.

FAQ
Questions about Mall & retail HVAC
How do you handle doors that open onto the street all day?
An open door pushes in hot humid air and spikes the heat load suddenly. We include that load in the design and direct a supply outlet above the entrance to form an air barrier that reduces mixing. The survey confirms which arrangement suits each specific doorway.
Do you install separate units for each mall tenant?
Yes. A separate unit per tenant means each shop controls its own cooling and a fault in one unit does not affect the neighbour. It also makes consumption readings straightforward and makes maintenance responsibility clear for each party.
Why do you prefer rooftop packaged units for malls?
A rooftop packaged unit keeps the condenser and evaporator in one casing above the roof, freeing every inch of shop floor from outdoor units and shortening the duct run. Maintenance happens on the roof without entering the shop, which fits scheduling work outside trading hours.
How do you handle Jeddah's heat and its effect on rooftop units?
Rooftop units in Jeddah work in hot, salty and dusty air that strains the condenser and speeds fin corrosion. We specify units with corrosion-resistant coatings and include coil cleaning and compressor and condenser checks in the preventive schedule of every maintenance contract.
Does air distribution design differ between a small shop and a large mall?
The site survey decides. A small shop may need only a concealed unit with directional grilles, while a mall requires a duct network with dampers zoned by area. In both cases the positions of lighting, visitor traffic and entry doors are recorded before supply outlets are placed.
My shop is very small, will one larger split work or do we need multiple units?
One appropriately sized split suffices for a small Al Wafa shop. We choose the capacity based on actual floor area and incoming heat, which saves money and space.
Roofs in dense blocks are shared and reserved, how do we mount the outdoor unit?
We liaise with building management to identify a safe roof spot, or mount the unit on a balcony or facade with their approval.
My shop has low ceiling, is a window unit better than a split?
A split is better here because it does not consume window or wall space. Clever placement of the indoor unit preserves your floor area.
Shops here are busy all day, does maintenance disrupt trading?
Routine maintenance typically takes 30 to 45 minutes. We schedule it after closing or early morning so trading is not disrupted.
