When you need a retail HVAC specialist

  1. 1

A new mall or shopping centre

A poor design from the start means cold zones next to stifling ones and endless tenant complaints. We study the heat load of each zone separately and choose the right unit type before the ceiling is built.

  2. 2

An existing shop with uneven cooling

The back of the shop is cold while the front near the door stays hot at peak hours. The cause is usually the air outlet layout or the unit size; a site survey identifies which and fixes the problem without replacing the whole system.

  3. 3

Condensate dripping on shelves or display

A single drip on stock or a glass display front damages the product and the shop's image. The cause is usually weak insulation, a blocked condensate line or an unlevel unit, all of which can be diagnosed and fixed in one visit.

Who it's for

  • Opening a new shop inside a mall

We design an independent unit for your space and install ductwork and condensate lines before finishing work so your opening is not delayed.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Site survey and loads

We visit the site and map every heat source: entrances, lighting, expected crowd density and facade orientation, then size the units correctly for each section.

  2. 2

    Design and materials

We design the duct network in our own workshop from G90 galvanised sheet to dimensions that give even air distribution, and select units from brands we distribute such as Carrier, YORK and Gree.

  3. 3

    Installation coordinated on site

We coordinate installation with the project programme so ductwork does not delay finishing trades, and run Mueller copper in runs of up to 30 metres without welded joints to reduce potential leak points.

  4. 4

    Start-up and maintenance contract

We start up the system and check air distribution in every section, then set a preventive and corrective maintenance schedule timed so work never overlaps with the shop's trading hours.

Some of our work

Ductwork, rooftop units and diffusers, from work we've completed in Jeddah.

  • Galvanized rectangular duct trunk with branch takeoffs and round diffusers, hung from a black ceiling, a Carrier unit visible behind — interior finishing stage.
  • Round diffusers and a spiral duct trunk in a tiled stairwell service shaft.
  • Rooftop ductwork and an exhaust fan, with Jeddah buildings in the background.
  • Rooftop packaged AC units with rectangular duct transitions, city buildings behind.
  • Insulated rooftop duct run beside a packaged unit, a warehouse roof in the background.
  • A grid of round diffusers in an open-plan office ceiling, mid-construction.
  • An insulated rooftop duct elbow, against a mountainous backdrop.
  • Large insulated ductwork running along a factory ceiling, with workers visible below.
  • A yellow round diffuser mid-installation, with spiral duct and a suspended ceiling grid.
  • Duct insulation wrap in progress on a construction site, bare duct still exposed.
  • A black-painted duct trunk with round diffusers and track lighting, in a finished retail interior.
  • An indoor AHU unit connected to round ductwork in a mechanical plant room, exposed concrete ceiling.

What sets this district apart

Al Wurud is a mixed commercial zone of smaller shops and residential blocks, with medium-width streets and modestly sized shop frontages. Shops here are smaller than the large malls elsewhere in the city, but see steady customer flow, and door openings still affect cooling load. A multi-unit split or a single powerful split unit runs efficiently here, requiring scheduled maintenance with advance notice.

Al Wurud sits in central Jeddah, a mixed commercial zone of medium-sized shops and residential blocks around main streets.

Most shops and small retail units in Al Wurud run one or two split units due to limited floor space and moderate heat loads.

The AC setup in Al Wurud

  1. 1

Single powerful split unit for a small shop

Narrow, smaller shops in Al Wurud benefit from a high-capacity single split that covers the whole space without excessive noise.

  2. 2

Dual split for a wider retail space

Some slightly larger shops need two split units on one compressor for even temperature distribution across the floor.

  3. 3

    Enhanced drainage for coastal humidity

Al Wurud's humidity requires strong drainage runs and deep drain pans to prevent water seeping onto the shop floor.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Al Wurud

  1. 1

Notify the shop owner of the visit time

Small shops run with few staff, so let the owner know in advance so they expect the team.

  2. 2

Clearly mark the outdoor unit location

Point out the outdoor unit location or designated space, especially if it is on a roof or rear balcony.

  3. 3

    Confirm adequate electrical supply

Check that the AC electrical connection is safe and functional, and that you have a separate circuit breaker for the unit.

FAQ

Questions about Mall & retail HVAC

How do you handle doors that open onto the street all day?

An open door pushes in hot humid air and spikes the heat load suddenly. We include that load in the design and direct a supply outlet above the entrance to form an air barrier that reduces mixing. The survey confirms which arrangement suits each specific doorway.

Do you install separate units for each mall tenant?

Yes. A separate unit per tenant means each shop controls its own cooling and a fault in one unit does not affect the neighbour. It also makes consumption readings straightforward and makes maintenance responsibility clear for each party.

Why do you prefer rooftop packaged units for malls?

A rooftop packaged unit keeps the condenser and evaporator in one casing above the roof, freeing every inch of shop floor from outdoor units and shortening the duct run. Maintenance happens on the roof without entering the shop, which fits scheduling work outside trading hours.

How do you handle Jeddah's heat and its effect on rooftop units?

Rooftop units in Jeddah work in hot, salty and dusty air that strains the condenser and speeds fin corrosion. We specify units with corrosion-resistant coatings and include coil cleaning and compressor and condenser checks in the preventive schedule of every maintenance contract.

Does air distribution design differ between a small shop and a large mall?

The site survey decides. A small shop may need only a concealed unit with directional grilles, while a mall requires a duct network with dampers zoned by area. In both cases the positions of lighting, visitor traffic and entry doors are recorded before supply outlets are placed.

My shop is small, will one split unit be enough?

We assess your shop size, door count, and heat from lighting and customers, then recommend the right cooling capacity for your location.

Does the outdoor unit need space away from the shop entrance?

Yes, we place it away from the entrance to avoid hot air recirculation, coordinating with you on the best side or rear location.

Humidity here in Al Wurud is high, does it affect the AC?

High humidity makes the AC work harder, so we install strong drainage and clean filters regularly to keep cooling efficient.

When do you recommend servicing a busy shop?

We recommend quarterly service during slow periods or before peak season, agreeing on timing in advance to minimise business disruption.
