Dedicated duct workshop

Duct fabrication in Al Sarawat

Duct fabrication in Al Sarawat demands precision because most of the modern residential buildings here rely on central AC systems with complex ductwork. Alrabih fabricates duct in the workshop to exact measurements and delivers it ready to hang with no air leakage.

Who needs workshop-fabricated duct?

  1. 1

    A contractor with project-specific sizes

Your project has non-standard sizes or volumes too large for site cutting. We fabricate rectangular and round sections from your drawings at exact dimensions, labelled and ready to hang when they reach the site.

  2. 2

Fittings too awkward to cut on site

Elbows, transitions, offsets and takeoffs come out distorted when cut by hand on site, leaking air and creating noise in the line. We make them in the workshop at the right dimensions with tight seams.

  3. 3

Extending or renovating an existing duct network

You need new branches, a damaged section replaced or a fitting that matches an old duct size. We measure the existing network on site and fabricate the pieces to match what is already there.

Who it's for

  • Building a facility that needs non-standard duct sizes

We read your project drawings and fabricate all sections and fittings at exact dimensions from G90 or aluminium sheet, labelled and ready to hang the moment they reach your site.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Take measurements

A technician visits the site or you send us the drawings; we list every duct section needed, its size and the correct sheet thickness for that section.

  2. 2

    Fabricate sections and fittings

We cut, form and lock the sheet in the workshop, including all elbows, transitions, offsets and takeoffs, and each section comes out at its exact dimension.

  3. 3

    Label and prepare for delivery

We number every section and fitting against the assembly plan so the installation crew knows exactly where each piece goes, with no guessing on site.

  4. 4

    Deliver to site

We deliver the duct to your Jeddah site protected and ready to hang. If you need an installation crew, we can arrange that as a separate step.

Some of our work

Ductwork, rooftop units and diffusers, from work we've completed in Jeddah.

  • Galvanized rectangular duct trunk with branch takeoffs and round diffusers, hung from a black ceiling, a Carrier unit visible behind — interior finishing stage.
  • Round diffusers and a spiral duct trunk in a tiled stairwell service shaft.
  • Rooftop ductwork and an exhaust fan, with Jeddah buildings in the background.
  • Rooftop packaged AC units with rectangular duct transitions, city buildings behind.
  • Insulated rooftop duct run beside a packaged unit, a warehouse roof in the background.
  • A grid of round diffusers in an open-plan office ceiling, mid-construction.
  • An insulated rooftop duct elbow, against a mountainous backdrop.
  • Large insulated ductwork running along a factory ceiling, with workers visible below.
  • A yellow round diffuser mid-installation, with spiral duct and a suspended ceiling grid.
  • Duct insulation wrap in progress on a construction site, bare duct still exposed.
  • A black-painted duct trunk with round diffusers and track lighting, in a finished retail interior.

What sets this district apart

Al Sarawat is a relatively modern district of medium to large residential buildings, mostly villas and apartment blocks with standardised layouts that need central AC systems rather than split units. Duct here runs through suspended ceilings and complex internal walls, so measuring dimensions, bends and take-offs on site and fabricating in the workshop ensures a perfect fit within tight spaces and zero air loss at joints.

Al Sarawat lies in south Jeddah and holds modern apartment blocks and villas with standardised designs and suspended ceilings.

Most residential buildings here run central AC needing rectangular duct with multiple bends and take-offs.

The AC setup in Al Sarawat

  1. 1

    Central duct with branch runs

Most villas and apartment blocks here need a main duct line from the outdoor unit with branches to each room or group of rooms.

  2. 2

    Aluminium for lightweight installation

Aluminium duct reduces load on suspended ceiling frames and simplifies installation in tight overhead spaces.

  3. 3

    Custom transitions and offsets

Fabricated duct includes custom bends, transitions and take-offs for each location, eliminating slow and imprecise on-site cutting.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Al Sarawat

  1. 1

Provide architectural drawings or ceiling measurements

Send us the site drawings for the system or ceiling space measurements to ensure we fabricate duct matching your exact dimensions.

  2. 2

Confirm the main duct route and branches

Agree with us on the main duct path and branch locations to each room or zone before we begin measurements.

  3. 3

Ensure team and equipment access to site

Ensure our team can access the site and suspended ceilings easily, and there is enough space to store fabricated duct temporarily before installation.

FAQ

Questions about Duct fabrication

Can you fabricate from drawings without visiting the site?

Yes, when the drawings are clear and carry the actual as-built dimensions. If a dimension is uncertain or a field change has been made, we prefer a site visit to avoid a fabricated piece that does not fit. We discuss the better approach with you before starting work.

What is the difference between galvanized and aluminium sheet for duct?

G90 galvanized sheet is the standard choice for interior duct: strong and suited to a range of pressures. Aluminium is lighter and handles Jeddah's coastal humidity and salt air better, making it right for some exposed applications or where structural load is a limiting factor. The correct choice depends on the site.

Can you make elbows and transitions to match an existing duct network?

Yes. We measure the existing network on site to match sizes precisely, whether you need a new branch added, a damaged fitting replaced or an extension tied into the original ductwork. The right approach is confirmed after the site visit.

How do you choose sheet thickness for each section?

Thickness follows section size: a large duct needs heavier sheet to hold its shape under pressure, a small one can use lighter material. We apply the SMACNA requirements to each section in the project individually, not a single thickness across the whole job.

Does Jeddah's humidity and salt air affect which sheet material to use?

Yes, particularly for sections exposed to outdoor air or installed near fresh-air intakes. G90 galvanized sheet performs well inside the building, but aluminium is the better choice where duct is in continuous contact with Jeddah's humid, salt-laden air. The site survey determines the right material for each section.

Why fabricate duct in the workshop rather than on site?

Workshop fabrication ensures exact dimensions and correct transitions and bends with no cutting errors, and the duct arrives on site ready to hang immediately with no air loss at the joints.

My villa's suspended ceiling space is tight, can you fabricate duct that fits?

We measure your space precisely and fabricate duct sized to fit the clearance between your structural and suspended ceiling, ensuring no impact on room height.

Fabricated duct needs complex joins, do you handle tight bends?

We fabricate tight bends, transitions and offsets from drawings or site measurements, reducing the number of joins and performance loss.

Is aluminium duct better than galvanised in humid conditions?

Both are durable, but aluminium is lighter and easier to hang, whilst galvanised is lower cost and handles higher static pressure. We choose based on your system's needs and space constraints.
